  i think smith and viduka play some similar role.so i wont put them together.need some good finisher.lolx why i put luque as finisher. i just trust big sam ability to revive the talented luque. i dont like zog at LB.i want him play at more attacking role.zog as sub to replace solano.
  cant wait for the season.
  we really deserve to get something this season. top 3 ^^

  i reckon with both smith and martin’s explosive personalities, they could penetrate tough defences. i really hope dyer gets a chance, it’s been tough on him, so a starting lineup opportunity would be gd. luque can operate on the left wing, with his new spanish colleague enrique. while our in-form solano can whip in those deadly crosses from the right.

  as for the defence, with taylor and rozy, i think it’s quite stable.

  yep! kickoff in about 3 days! hope we can bag our 1st prem win under big sam~

  Carr and Cacapa can cover for defence, midfield can be covered by Zoggs or Geremi reshuffling with Carr or Cacapa going into defence and still have the excellent Ozzie Troisi who can play right midfield, attacking midfield or even forward. Smith of course could go forward and Geremi into he middle if an extra forward was needed other than Shola.

  I would play a 4-3-3, carr could be swaped with solano giving both nzog and sol oppurtunitys to move forward with the ball.

  I doubt dyer will play but if big sam feels he is up for it we have to play him he is probably our best midfielder on form he has genunie pace and would be very useful in away games when we are using the counter attack .

  With N’Zogbia playing fullback and Smith playing in attack we have cover available on the pitch for any midfield changes.

  I don’t believe Luque will be fit after his groin strain at Gateshead earlier this week. Hopefully I’m wrong as he’s a talent that we’ll see this season, especially now he has a fellow Spanish compatriate in Enrique.

  I have either Enrique/Cacapa on bench as BSA will bring these guys through slowly.

  The team looks good especially with Duff, Emri, Barton injured, (Dyer?), several new arrivals to be slowly bled into the team and possibly one or two new players to be announced…..

  Think Ed’s formation is the most likely - I think that Geordie_Jordan’s formation is more suited for a home game (too many offensively minded players - me thinks..)

  Solano is finished! he can only last the first half. Fair enough he is a brilliant passer of the ball but he just can’t run i’m faster than him and i’m twelve!

  That’s the formation to begin with, smith is a haggler and should play the full ninety. Viduka to be replaced by Martins early second half just to see how Bolton’s tired legs fare up against the speedster. After the Martins substitution make a double substitution to effect a complete change of tempo, take off solano and luque to be replaced by Dyer and N’zogbia. Milner to move to RB, Dyer at RW and Nzog at LW.
  The tone of the game would have been given some extra batteries.

  Effectively you’ll notice it is the same as yours, except i’d play Milner on the right instead of Nobby. I must say that had Luque, Enique or Duff been fit I don’t think Nobby would have got a game. Barton will be missed. I’ve plumped for Smith ahead of Martins because I think with a full preseason under his belt he will be the most likely to last 90 minutes. Viduka will be replaced at some point (by Martins). Cacapa may make a cameo from the bench, and I definitely expect Enrique to have a firey 20minutes towards the end of the game (This doesn’t take into account if we have an injury in the event of which we won’t see Cacapa). 2-1 (Smith and Geremi to score against a Kevin Nolan reply).

  I am pretty unsure about this line-up, since we have Enrique and Cacapa available, but we can`t know for sure if they will figure, as they probably will be played gently into the firstteam. I am taking a chance though. 2 suggestions.

  for the first time since i care to remember, the team doesnt select itself, there’s competition! for bolton i’d go with a 4-4-2 and:

  harper; carr, rozy, tayls, zoggers; solano, geremi, butt, milner; smith, viduka.
  subs: forster, ramage, cacapa, luque, martins.

  enrique will be lb for most games and i’d like to see geremi replace carr at rb and either zoggers or smith in attacking centre mid and martins up front. so for aston villa:

  given; geremi, rozy, tayls, enrique; milner, butt, smith, zoggers; martins, viduka

  god so many choices, altho i dont expect geremi will be used at rb much.

  I agree with Chappa, however I would swap Enrique for the Zog, BSA has already said that he wantes to ease him in. I would consider giving him the last 15 minutes, then pushing Zog into Midfield, move Milner to the right and swap Solano for Dyer.

  I know Dyer is going to be given a hard time, but if he comes on for 15 minutes and works his socks off then I think we could warm to him again.

  Dunno why people keep including Krul in the line up, he aint available. I was confused re. Foster do we mean Fraser Forster. I would suggest that Nobby will still be running further and faster than any of the team at any stage of the match and would have him in the starting lineup somewhere on the right side. Older is not past it, I played till I was 55 and could outlast most of the people I played with many of them 30 years younger at a reasonably good standard. One thing I hope not to see this season is our defenders watching the back of an opposition forward as he heads for goal after a hopefull lob upfield. God we were so naive for the past few seasons.

  Whats wrong with everyone, surely you have to use Martins with either Smith or Viduka, but most certainly NOT Viduka and Smith together if Martins is fit to play. Assuming Enrique and Cacapa can’t play just yet,

  id throw enrique in he will be miles better than baba or zog simply becuase hes a proper fb. hes obviously not worried himself about being thrown in.

  id simply try and squeeze as much height and power into the team as possible, could you see the zog competing with davies for aerial balls ??? ive still got carr loosing out too easily to anelka in the air against bolton last season engraved in my memory and how it cost us a goal. so id rather geremi started at rb.

  if bolton start with gavin mcann ahead of camp id say or chances of winning go up greatly as all his games based on is kicking people. at leats cmapo can pass creativly.

  Normally wouldn’t start smith and viduka (up front) but think the first 20 mins or so will be a bit of a blood bath and smith and viduka up front will help. I would expect Viduka to be replaced at half time or just after and then the fresh Martins can be let loose

  I’d favour 4-3-3 by Big Sam. Dont know why I chose Carr for RB though, he’s slow in overlapping. Hope nothing serious about Given’s groin injury,cause I doubt Harper’s goalkeeping. While Zog help with attacking on the left, Milner can change to right flank to help Solano cause i doubt Carr would be much of help. Smith will be CF rather than AM cause he favour that position

  this provides pace and power upfront with 2 players who can head. Picking Dyer would show all is forgiven and hopefully he would do a good job. Zoggy and milner will work hard, tho maybe luque left mid (give him a chance) if this is the case then zoggy can go LB

  After watching the recent games,yes I think they have been good in a workman like way,but there seems to be something missing, and that can be provided by Dyer.Don’t get me wrong as a person I’m not a big fan of his,but the idea of the team is to win matches,and Dyer on his day can do that.Yes he doesn’t have a lot of “good Days” but I’m sure BSA is the man to make him more consistent.It’s idiotic to pay him 80K a week and not use him when he is available.BSA is a shrewed man and I’m convinced he will use Dyer on Sat. and when he does don’t boo him that is silly and detramental to the side, wait till he leaves the club then slag him off as much as you like.
