Newcastle United’s new third change kit for the 2007/2008 season will go on sale next Wednesday, August 29.
Our new left-back from Villareal, Jose Enrique, is modeling the new white and light blue strip.
Take a look at it - we like it - but we suppose our idea of light blue and white stripes fell on deaf ears at the club
Anyway we like the light blue color and we like this third change strip.

Jose Enrique - wondering where the right winger went
The strip will go on sale from 9am on August 29th - so fans will be able to wear it that night when Newcastle United play host to Barnsley in the Carling Cup Second Round encounter at St. James’ Park - a must-win game for the club.
Let’s know what you think of this new strip - we’ll issue more photographs as they become available.
Comments very welcome.

dont really like it, maybe its just because its in the long sleeved.
2 Andreas // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:12
Quite nice imo. Although the idea with a change kit based on our b&w stripes with only different colours was even better.
3 STEPHEN // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:14
its looks like one of those copy rgentina shirts you but in spain for a few euros!! one of the worst looking kits we’ve had
4 Toon Army // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:17
dont like it either, but if they had to change the colours around , for example: where the blue is should be black and the black should be blue.
Thats just my opinion ,what you guys think?
5 P.collins // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:17
I think it’s ridiculous NUFC bringing out a third kit as i thought it was supposed to be if we got into Europe. We very rarely wear the away strip as it which i have bought and i think it’s just a way to get more money out of the Fans. You just wait and see you will count on one hand the amount of times these shirts will be worn Bang goes another £45
6 Shaun // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:21
Nope
7 Luke // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:24
think it looks smashing — FAR nicer than the first away kit — but the motives for its release are transparent.
8 Chris M // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:27
Its shite. Both away strips are crap.
9 aaron d // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:27
i think its ok, but just another money making scheme from the club, why do we need three kits anyway? we not even in europe, the away kit will probably be used in about 6 games and this kit about 3 or 4.
10 aaron d // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:28
p.collins you beat me to it
11 Ed Harrison // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:34
P.collins - excellent point - should only do that when we’re we are in Europe.
12 steve k // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:36
…why is the barnsley game a “must-win”? i’d certainly prefer to lose it than any of our premiership games, or f.a. cup games.
in fact it’s our most lose-able competitive fixture of the season.
13 Chris F // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:39
P.Collins…..you could always not buy it, thus not waste 45 quid.
14 Jerry // Aug 23, 2007 at 10:49
Is NUFC Argentina in disguise? lol
15 liam gray // Aug 23, 2007 at 11:00
I think this kits one of the better one’s we have produced, dont know if i’d rush out right away and get it though. Think we need to stop worring about kits and look more into new signings to make st james the fortress it once was.
16 A geordiedoonsooth // Aug 23, 2007 at 11:02
Not that much different from the 2nd strip (all pale blue), when will they wear this?
17 graeme dev // Aug 23, 2007 at 11:03
try buying it from somewhere like sports direct , they normally sell the new kits for atound £33.99 and thus saving yourselves £12.
Will look much better in short sleeves though (imo).
18 Darren // Aug 23, 2007 at 11:06
Yeah - its definately too Argentina for me
19 nufcstats.com // Aug 23, 2007 at 11:08
almost like Ribery during his time in Marseille
it is ok a pretty nice but what for? only for a money nothing else but of course it is everyone choice to buy it or not but i like it more then the second one. I want us to be the first club with clear politic over change strips (colours and style like with the home one)
20 Bill F // Aug 23, 2007 at 11:18
Are we after some Argies. can’t see any other reason for it!! I agree with most of the negative comments.
21 Chappa // Aug 23, 2007 at 11:35
i like it! very smart i think
22 JP from The Rock of Gibraltar // Aug 23, 2007 at 11:58
It’s not too bad could have been worse e.g. last years burgandy/blue/yellow away kit!! This is miles better compared to that one, but i agree it does resemble Argentina’s kit. Short sleeve would look better and it does seem like a money trap for whoever wants it badly enough.
23 shearyadi // Aug 23, 2007 at 12:00
Well, in terms of the design, I agree this second away is better look than the first away kit, and beside that, It has more white on it
But…it will look fantastic if that light blue was dark-gray or even better, black!
24 Dingo // Aug 23, 2007 at 12:07
NUFC have never had any luck in the away and change kit departments. Sack the board of designers!!!!! horrible.
25 Dingo // Aug 23, 2007 at 12:08
goalie kits have been generally shite as well. Ill stick with me black n white stripes thanks.
26 Bill F // Aug 23, 2007 at 12:19
How about a nice pink with little white ruffs on the neck and sleeves, I think the lads would be happy to express their feminine side especially after some of those nasty rough tackles.
27 daniel // Aug 23, 2007 at 12:41
sorry to disapoint you lads but the club site states the third kit will be exclusive to club stores and the online shop so no cheapuns in sports direct, also all of u who think the strip itself is horible i strongly disagree and think all of u need somethin sortin out in your heads, as for all the rest who say the new away kit is disgusting i think it is the noste gorgeous strip on the market and the best newcastle has ever had since i have been alive
any problems with that lads??
28 evil dick // Aug 23, 2007 at 12:42
pointless
29 Johnny T // Aug 23, 2007 at 12:43
Personnaly I think a class of eight yr olds with a set of crayons could have come up with a better design than that. It’s a joke!
30 Bosck // Aug 23, 2007 at 12:46
Steve k - the barnsley game is a must win as allardyce is aiming to win the league cup this year as he believes it our best chance of a trophy. Obviously we want to win every game in the premiership and fa cup, but the league cup is the 3rd largest domestic trophy in england, and not a trophy to be ignored by a team like ours who has not won any for decades.
Don’t tell me you wouldnt be happy to see us picking up that trophy at wembley later in the season.
31 Bosck // Aug 23, 2007 at 12:49
added to the fact that losing to a championship side would be a major blow to morale and not help the team to try to build a run of good results and keep up our unbeaten (albeit after only 2 games) record in competitive games this season.
32 Darren // Aug 23, 2007 at 13:01
Club is reporting that this strip will be a ‘cup’ strip and will be worn against Barnsley next Wednesday.
Does this mean it will be worn in all cup matches? If so I’d be pi$$ed off if we got to Wembley and won a trophy wearing this pile of sh1te, I want to see our famous black & white shirts parading a cup.
(actually I just want us to win a trophy non stop but you know what I mean)
33 Ed Harrison // Aug 23, 2007 at 13:08
Darren - if we reach Wembley rest assured we’ll be in our black and white stripes.
34 Ed Harrison // Aug 23, 2007 at 13:09
daniel - i like it too - but we seem to be in the minority.
35 Stevo1892 // Aug 23, 2007 at 13:13
to be honest, i think its a disgrace bringing out another strip, fair do’s when we are in europe and its going to be worn a canny few times. I think this is the first season i can remember where none of the strips have been good. I think they are all average to c**p!
I think the maroon and blue hooped away strip should have made a comeback but ARSEnal beat us too it, the barstewards.
Anyways, sod the strips, the most important thing is the team, i think we’re 1 creative midfielder away from being the bee knees!
HOWAY THE LADS!
36 Darren // Aug 23, 2007 at 13:17
Ed - trouble is if we wore this shirt all the way to the final would/should we change it? Superstition etc.
(got too much time on my hands today, I’m getting miles ahead of things)
37 Punk Skunk // Aug 23, 2007 at 13:37
Don’t phuckin’ buy it then you miserable bastards!..I’d like to see what some of you lot wear on a day-to-day basis, just to get an angle on y’fashion sense,
that would tell me if i could trust your judgement on such matters!..
…On second thoughts, nah i wouldn’t!..
…It’s a football strip for christs sake, grow up!..
…Howay the Lads, dressed in anything!!!..
38 Punk Skunk // Aug 23, 2007 at 13:46
Surely, a third kit is a chance to do something a little different. I doubt the world’s gonna end or anything!?!..But anyway, if we win a cup, or anything for that matter, we can do it in cock-tail dresses for all i care!..
…Howay the Lads!..
39 Darren // Aug 23, 2007 at 13:50
I reckon they should bring out a fourth kit, incase our third kit clashes with another teams in the cup like
40 Punk Skunk // Aug 23, 2007 at 14:03
LoL!..Gan on Daz!..
41 apan // Aug 23, 2007 at 14:05
its too, empty?? argentina like for sure…….the away kit is better than this the best is of coz black and white
42 Andreas // Aug 23, 2007 at 14:49
As I’ve said previously I do think this kit is ok.
However, the best possible away kit would be an exact copy of our normal b&w stripes, of course with another colouring -> that would give us a great change kit for sure. Could even do a third kit based on the same concept too.
43 Punk Skunk // Aug 23, 2007 at 17:06
Toon, Toon-(pale) Blue ‘n’ White Army!..
Or ‘any’ MoFo colour than red, come to think of it!..
…Ah!..(colour) Blind faith!..
…Howay!..
44 carl // Aug 23, 2007 at 17:37
ED- strange how its very similar to the kit on your website a month or two back which i liked.and i also like this kit ,in short sleeve though.i cant understand what people are being negative for as i like argentinas kit and this is similar.but everyone has their preferences
45 Darryl Money // Aug 23, 2007 at 18:03
I Like it tbh. better than our away kit at the mo.
46 gareth // Aug 23, 2007 at 19:58
the kit looks great. quit your whining.
47 Todd in USA // Aug 23, 2007 at 20:03
Sorry. Just don’t like it. Perhaps Toon Army’s suggestion might be better, to switch the black and blue stripes. But I’m just not a fan of the pale blue at all.
48 Phill // Aug 24, 2007 at 3:09
aal the ppl sayin they would prefer a change kit exactly like the home only different colour, you do realise the 3rd kit is just that? albeit minus 2 stripes (1 front, 1 back) and the crap collar that ruins our home one. also the sponser isnt a lump of felt. it is the exact template as our home one, but because the home has a lot of black on it (about time!!) you cant see it as well.
to state the obvious, i like it
49 Loisss // Aug 25, 2007 at 6:20
I fully agree with Dingo and Johnny T… Both away strips are crap… The home one is less than average… Only Chelsea has done worst with that disgusting fluo yellow thing… Arsenal are not very good either… I don’t get their concept of matching the marroon shirt with their red crest… You just can’t match those two colours… Anyway…
50 Tripp // Sep 1, 2007 at 4:30
Pale blue and white… no thanks. I liked the claret and blue a lot better as the away kit too. Home kit is class, I like that design. Xmas is coming…
51 Tripp // Sep 1, 2007 at 4:50
So Ed, if we go through your blog do you get a l’il kickback?
