The new Actim Ratings are out following last weekend’s games and Charles N’Zogbia has slipped to 8th position from last week’s 4th position but David Rozehnal has entered ranked 94th with a points total of 73.
Although Charles slipped in his ranking his index points increased from 131 to 135.
Steve Harper has slipped from an overall ranking of 14th to 63rd even though his rating of 86 remains unchanged because he didn’t play on Saturday. Steve has slipped out of the Top 5 goalkeepers list.

David Rozehnal - enters Top 100 Premiership Players at 94th
Apart from N’Zogbia no other Newcastle player is ranked in the top 10 overall. Zog is ranked 4th as a midfielder but would be ranked 2nd to Rio Ferdinand as ranked as a defender, since he has been playing left back for us but is ranked as a midfielder.
Steven Taylor was ranked 87th last week with 68 points but drops out of the ratings although Newcastle still retain 6 players in the top 100 since Roz has entered at 94th. N’Zogbia is the only Newcastle player ranked in the top 10 players or ranked within a top 5 category.
The categories tracked are
Top 10 overall
Top 5 goalkeepers
Top 5 defenders
Top 5 midfielders
Top 5 strikers
Cesc Fabregas is still the top player ranked overall and has gone over the 202 points mark. He is a full 52 points ahead of the next player in the rating who is striker Mwaruwari of Portsmouth. Mwaruwari scored a hat trick on Saturday in Portsmouth’s 7-4 win over Reading at home. Yesterday Aston Villa drew 4-4 with Tottenham after being ahead 4-1 with 21 minutes to play. Jol’s job saved – again?
Who says there’s no goals and entertainment in the Premiership
After Saturday’s it’s not all that surprising that Manchester City have 2 players in the top 6. Petrov is rated 3rd and Elano is rated 6th. As for midfielders Petrov and Elano are ranked only behind Fabregas in the rankings so Manchester City have 2 of the 3 top ranked midfielders right now in the Premiership.
The six Newcastle Players ranked in the top 100 Premiership players:
Name Score Actim Rank
Charles N’Zogbia 135 8 James Milner 95 43 Steve Harper 86 63 Mark Viduka 85 65 Geremi 79 79 David Rozehnal 73 94

Ed, you’re a blogging machine! Nice article. Good to see Roz rising in the standings.

Zog didn’t play well against City. The sooner Enrique is enstalled at LB, the sooner we’ll see Zog in midfield attacking defences and making/scoring goals for the black and whites…….

Tripp - we know Sam’s keen on these stats - and why not. We can judge as we go through the season who’s good and who’s not from these ratings - don’t be surprised if this is how Big Sam rates players too.

I think they’ re a bit of a joke now really, like they’ll be all good and well and will make for some interesting reading at the END of the season but you can’t really take ANYTHING from it now 7 games in or whatever it is.

How’s Geremi in the top 100?? He has been terrible for us. He hasn’t made a tackle and his passing has been atrocious!!
