Emre, our talented little Turkish International, talked today to nufc.co.uk and said the two games he is likely to play for Turkey, starting on Saturday, will only help him get fitter physically.
Emre is fresh from his heroics last Sunday when he scored a wonderful second goal for Newcastle with his charmed left foot, and it looks better and better every time we see it
Let’s take a look at what Emre has been saying.

Emre - after scoring his fantastic goal Sunday - does he look pleased?
This is what Emre told our official Newcastle United web site today:
“I have said all along that I need games†“We have two very important matches for Turkey and if I play then of course it will help Newcastle because it will help my condition.â€
“Every day that I train and every game that I play I feel better and better.â€
“When I return after the international break hopefully I will be nearing top fitness and then I can think about winning my place in the team.”
Turkey are third in Group C, level on 17 points with second-placed Norway. European champions Greece top the table with 19 points.
Emre has a real future at Newcastle if he can get fit and stay fit, and there’s none better at helping him do that than Sam Allardyce. Fewer injuries could well be a key for Newcastle this season, as the last two seasons have been horrendous for the club.
Let’s hope Emre returns uninjured from the international break and then Sam will have lots of players to choose from, including Joey Barton, for the game against Spurs on Monday evening, 22nd October.
Hey, maybe we’ll see some creativity in that game. Hope so, but Newcastle are doing well grinding out the results so far - so we’re not complaining. 14 points from 8 games isn’t too bad given that we know we could have done better in some of the games.
Comments welcome.

Emre needs to stay fit……fingers crossed he comes back o.k as we need his craftiness in the centre of the park, I suppose his situation is similar to Owens,
although to be fair Emre was a hell of a lot cheaper to buy.
Let’s hope he’s going to be the Toon’s Turkish Delight this season.
(yes corny I know…)

Sop worring about money. We do not have to discuss what MO cost as this is now written off in the take over.
We have no debts that are not managed and Mike has twice paid out to reduce these.
We are gong to bring in more players of higher quality but the cost and wages are not an issue as this regime is not raping the club and will not endanged it the way shepherd and his cronies did.
By the way emre is class when he is bothered and he knows he has to work hard to get in the team now unlike last year.

Willowtoon….
I’m sorry but if you buy one player for 10p and one for 25 million
what would your expectation levels for each player be, the same?
