A month ago Newcastle had 7 players in the Premier league’s top 100 players based on the Actim index. Today that number has dwindled to just 3 players and two of them are our 21 year-olds Charles N’Zogbia and James Milner.

Charles N’Zogbia - currently ranked 36th in league, Newcastle’s top player
A month or so ago we had 7 players in the top 100 and there positions and actim index were as follows:
Player Points Rank N’Zogbia 156 7 Milner 136 23 Geremi 106 64 Butt 104 67 Martins 94 88 Cacapa 94 89 Owen 89 98
That number has dwindled to just 3 players now and even includes Michal Owen, who has not played for a number of weeks. The three players are N’Zogbia, James Milner and Michael Owen and they stand as follows:
Player Points Rank N’Zogbia 174 38 Milner 154 55 Owen 123 96
This is a reflection of the fact that we haven’t played well individually or as a team over the last 6-7 games and the actim index therefore falls off a bit. The top 10 players from all positions in the Premier League is as follows:
1 B Mwaruwari Portsmouth 293 2 F Fabregas Arsenal 287 3 C Tevez Man Utd 283 4 F Lampard Chelsea 282 5 S Gerrard Liverpool 272 6 G Agbonlahor Aston Villa 270 7 E Adebayor Arsenal 266 8 C Ronaldo Man Utd 261 9 R Ferdinand Man Utd 259 10 M Petrov Man City 258
For the first time this season Fabregas of Arsenal is not at the top of the charts, and is overtaken by Mwaruwari of Portsmouth. But there are some top names in that top 10, that’s for sure. Of course Fabregas has also been out injured. You can get the full rankings here.
Comments welcome.

That fact tells the story of that bad spell we had, when including myself, crying for SA to stop playing about with out of position players, and in cases not playing players at all.
Without doubt, if we carry on as in the past 3 games i think we will see more than 3 players in that list next month.

I dont understand why people dont realise we are in a transitional period, we arent going to win anything this season and we arent going to do very well either - fact.
as long as we stick with Sam and he gets money to improve the team we will be back to being the team we all know we can be.
Its not going to happen over night, or over a period of months.
im content that we are in the top half of the prem, especially after being managed by Souness & Roeder.
Sam needs time.

Sven did’nt need much time at City,so what’s BSA’s reason??
Time won’t make a bloke who thinks not playing anyone on the whole right side of the pitch, think it isn’t right.

Nothing for a pair of long balls. Not in this game.

If City suddenly start crashing what’re you people gonna say? Mmm. Of course they might not given the number of quality buys (coupled with the amount of money being pumped in by a dubious Mr Shinawatra) Eriksson was ABLE to make.
