Keegan Like One of Us - Rozehnal

David Rozehnal was bought by Sam Allardyce during the summer for £2.8M from PSG seems almost certain that new manager Kevin Keegan will turn the club’s fortunes around.

David Rozehnal - finally played in center midfield last Saturday

David told Pravo today:

“He has natural authority; that is why he is a legend of English and world football,” “To us players he is more like a friend, like one of us.”“For example, the preparation for the Bolton game was completely different to what it was under Sam Allardyce.”

“Keegan was sitting amongst us, spoke to each of us and told each player what he wanted from him to play in the game, cheered him and motivated as if he was an older team-mate.”

“This is exactly what we needed in this period of time. I am convinced that under him we will go up.” “After nearly a year I played in center midfield. It was also one of my dreams, to play in this position, and this dream has come true,”

David played OK on Saturday especially in the second half, with some nice long passes, and we’ll just have to see how he responds to Kevin’s management style.

But David’s a good lad, and certainly loves it at Newcastle, and if he can cut down the number of mistakes he makes, he could still have a good future on Tyneside.

    I think he will shine under KK!!!

    Well doesn’t look like Richards is coming here - hence the move for Woodgate!!! £10 Million deal - bloody hell it’s a lot of money!

    shame rozehanl isnt like keegan was. lol, anyway this says alot for sam allardyce, god if it was completely different to way sa was going about business before games, just what was he doing?

    carl - doesn’t matter what Keegan did before Bolton - it didn’t work. we were flat for the entire 90 minutes.

    but giving rozenhal a midfield role was very clever cause he looked far better there than he did in defence.

    i think we were flat because we had 5 defenders on pitch. i personaly didint like roz in midfield.either way kk only had a day or two to prepare for the game, and the players are still in a sam allardyce mind set.bring on the arsenal

    i tell ya’ what: i get the feeling that KK actually asks his players where they like to play, which has got to be a good plan, it’s bound to get the best out of ‘em!..

    what i meant is didnt big sam sit down and talk to his players, and tell them what he wanted from each person? by sounds what roz is saying ,he didnt!

    Carl - I agree that Keegan’s approach is better than Sam’s, and in the long run it will work. It just didn’t on Saturday. The players looked over awed by the whole atmosphere rather than responding to it.

    On a separate matter does anyone think Shearer should put himself up for the Southampton job? A former club and he needs experience as a number 1

    kk asked him to fill in in cm and judging these two characters, the confidence must’ve been infectious. that one long ball i remember, outside of left boot, over the top to the zog, beautiful!

    reminds me of peacock, no nonsence and plenty of determination. he’ll be reet. woody would be nice though!

    …Ya’ get the feeling he ain’t really into bein’ a big no.2…But he obviously felt he had to throw his hat into the ring at NUFC…Maybe he thought we wouldn’t forgive him if he didn’t at least try to come to the rescue!..

    Carl - win, or lose against Arsenal doesn’t matter - i still believe we are finally heading in the right direction.

    in terms of attitude and style of play we will be a totally different team next season.

    Keegan is excellent if not a Genius at Man Management where he has lacked is his tactical side of the game. When a game plan needs to be changed during a game or for different opposition, he has sometimes been found lacking.
    For this reason he needs a very good no2 whos is a very good tactician. Who this is going to be is anyones guess, but it is a very important decision to make. If they get it right I honestly believe that this time round KK will bring in some silverware if they don’t we’ll still enjoy some fantastic football but with a few heart breaks to boot.
    I haven’t been this optimistic about NUFC for a very, very long time.

    James good shout about Shearer and Southampton.His wifes family are from there,and he still spends a bit of time in the area.I’m sure if he put himself forward for the job they would snatch his hand off.

    Mick G - 2 years at Southampton would be better experience than being number 2 at Newcastle.

    Just hope he gets off the sofa and goes for it. There’s no point being on MOTD for another 2 years waiting for the Newcastle job.

    Southampton would be the perfect place for Shearer to start I think.

    Roz will regain the form he had at PSG under Kev. It’s just taking him time to adjust to the pace of the premiership. I also feel that the team felt really beat down under BSA. Which would explain the teams poor form.
