Tim Krul Injures Shoulder Saving Penalty

Wednesday January 23rd, 2008 by Ed Harrison· 29 Comments

Tim Krul’s chances of progressing in the Scottish Cup were ended last night when Falkirk were beaten 3-1 by Aberdeen, in a 4th round replay.

Tim Krul - 6′2″ goalkeeper injured saving penalty last night

Tim has been playing well in Scotland, and is well thought of at the Falkirk club. He’s so far made 21 appearances for the Scottish Premier club. He made an excellent save from a penalty near the end of the game last night, but in so doing he was injured. It’s a shoulder injury, but we’re not sure how serious the injury is.

We don’t know how long he will be out for, but Falkirk manager John Hughes is hopeful he can make a quick return.

John Hughes said after the game:

“It’s very disappointing. I really feel for him, it was a great save from the penalty, and fingers crossed it’s not too serious,”

“We’ll all support him and hopefully he makes a speedy recovery.”

Tim will miss a match where he would probably have been quite busy, as Falkirk are due to meet Celtic at home on Saturday.

Let’s hope Tim can make a quick recovery and get straight back playing for Falkirk, where he is gaining very valuable experience this season. His loan spell runs through the end of this season, and Tim is another one of our talented up and coming youngsters at the club.

Comments welcome.

whats going on with the website

  • 7 James // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:06

thanks guys - i’ve just read keegan statement saying smith and butt are back for the FA Cup and Viduka might be on the bench should his injury clear up.

With that in mind, I guess the team will be :

    Given
    Carr Taylor Cacapa Enrique
    Milner Butt Nzogbia Duff
    Owen Smith

No doubt, Smith and Butt will pick up their usual yellow cards.

Pandev is brilliant, great just behind the front two, advanced on the wing or as an out and out striker. I think he is best when just behind the front two.

Defintely worth the 11.2 mil quoted, he will add an extra dimension to our attack and link well with the midfield.

Pandev would be good!..But what about playing Carroll on sat, while he’s got his shooting boots on, then we could bring Smith on l8r, if we need someone to kick people & get yellows!?!..

  • 12 Punk Skunk // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:31

£11m seems a bit ower tho’?..i thought more like £7/8m, but hey, flash the cash, Ash!..

  • 13 James // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:33

Punk Skunk - These days you have to pay £11m+ to get a good player. And Pandev is a great player.

  • 14 Punk Skunk // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:34

Anyone reckon Tozer might make the squad for sat?..

  • 15 Punk Skunk // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:34

I agree mate, wishful thinking on my part!..

  • 16 MattyDread // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:35

Pandev would be a cracking signing and very Keegan.

  • 17 James // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:40

ED - Think you need an article on Pandev

  • 18 Chicken // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:42

oops a bit late with my link!

  • 21 Tom_Toon // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:52

By buying Pandev he’s trying to recreate the Tino Asprilla signing.

  • 22 Kris // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:57

Goran Pandev of lazio is gonna be first signing, toon already made a bid, looks a good player too very similar to berbatov just what we need

    doesnt look to bad

  • 24 Punk Skunk // Jan 23, 2008 at 13:59

Howay, let’s have him!..Time for some much needed flair!..& releasing the ball earlier in dangerous positions!..

  • 25 James // Jan 23, 2008 at 14:02

    Sometimes it works (Berbatov).

    Sometimes it doesn’t (Luque).

If there is truth in this deal then it means the Ashton one must be off (same kind of player).

  • 26 James // Jan 23, 2008 at 14:06

The most enouraging thing about this is that it means Keegan is looking abroad for talent too, and not just the PL.

  • 27 Punk Skunk // Jan 23, 2008 at 14:07

Yea, but we seem to have got into the habit of waiting too long…But also, some. hardly worth mentioning, players don’t get into good positions ’til it’s too late!.. But i defo feel the likes of Owen would prefer early ball!..

  • 28 Ed Harrison // Jan 23, 2008 at 14:08

James - I’ll look at Pandev in an hour or so - and maybe put together an overall transfer position - got a dental appointment now
    :D :D
