Steven Taylor has talked today to the BBC and has no doubt at all, that Newcastle will continue to be a top quality side.

He told BBC Radio Newcastle today from the England Under-21 training camp at Southampton today:
“If we stick together we can get ourselves out of it, we’ve been in a worse position.â€
“We’re a top quality side anyway and there’s no reason why we can’t go and beat these top sides.”
Newcastle were a little unlucky not to have taken all 3 points fairly comfortably on Sunday but Lady Luck was not with us. A disallowed Michael Owen goal after just 5 minutes was key, but Steven Taylor rightly believes the players just need to get on with the game.
Steven added:
“It’s happening all over the Premiership. Every game there seems to be a decision that’s not going well,” “You can’t do anything about it.”
“If players argue they get booked, if they keep arguing you get sent off so you got to let the gaffer do the talking.”
That’s a typical good attitude form the Newcastle local, because the referees will always make mistakes – just like the players. Most of the time, it’s the players who make the biggest mistake in the games with a striker missing an open goal, or a goalkeeper letting a sloppy goal in.
The referees will always continue to make mistakes because they’re human. We’re not sure if video replays will be good for the game or not, quite honestly. They may be worth a trial period, to see how they work.
Lastly, both Steven Taylor and James Milner are expected to start the England Under-21 game against Ireland tonight, at St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton, with a 7:45 PM kick off.

I’m definitely pro video replays. I think they should be implemented, but used sparingly. A referee should be able to refer to a video ref when there’s a big decision to be made that he’s not 100% sure on.
If used sensibly I don’t think video replays would really waste any game time. When a ‘dodgy’ decision is made the players all go mental and waste a load of time anyway; whereas if the decision has come from a video ref the players don’t have a leg to stand on and the ref would have more control in getting the game restarted.
Plus Newcastle would have won 2-0 on Sunday if there’d been video replays so I’m understandably bias…

they should be trialed I think, and the offside law should be changed cos it’s too much of an open book, it needs to be more defined! Lee dong gook clearly went to play the ball and so therefore was interfering in play, despite the need not to mark him for headers having seen his previous efforsts against mighty mansfield, and anyone remember the one against Everton where he hit the bar from about 2 yards out?.
Maybe the use for them should be implemented by managers, but they should obv only get a certain amount each game, and it would change Wengers post-match interview “I didn’t see anything”. I dunno what they’d lose if they got it wrong, but there should be something if it’s wrong like a substitution. I’m sure the bigwigs on their money can think of something better than that. What you guys think?

They have to forfeit a substitute, how about that? I think review should only be used to verify a goal or a penalty in the box that results in a penalty shot. The managers can challenge a decision and it can be over turned or upheld. If upheld the challenging side must forfeit a sub. If they’ve used all of their subs they can’t challenge, or something like that.

What worries me is that out top quality performers are not being used enough. Emre should never have been taken off the other game and certainly not to make room for Milner who is playing well below what he should be.

Sick of seeing Smith play as his style of play does snot get results. There were pics on the NUFC site of the boys in training running between poles for agility. Looking past Owen they are all still but behind Smith you can see every one swinging like it just got hit by a freight train. Everytime he gets his hair done thats two hours he could have spent training

One player we should never doubt about he’s faithfulness to NUFC is Steven Taylor. Very much better than N’Zogbia.
