Here are some comments and observations on today’s game, but our major complaint today is that we gave up the fight when we went 2-1 down after 6 minutes into the second half. That’s completely unacceptable to the Newcastle United faithful.
Here’s some other comments on the game today:
- The players should take note and keep playing in these games when they get behind, or we should ship them out in the summer - quickly. The second half was a pathetic imitation of a football team this afternoon - and we will soon be in relegation trouble if we don’t quickly recover from this debacle of a half - it’s completely unacceptable.
- The first half was a good performance and we deserved to be 1-0 up with a good opportunist goal form Michael Owen
- We didn’t show up for the second half and something that Newcastle fans will not tolerate form the players - they gave up the fight when we went down 2-1
- In the second half the performance was reminiscent of the Manchester United second half. The defense looked no better than League 2 standard and the players have to accept the reposnibil;ity of a despicable performance in the final 45 minutes
- Something is seriously wrong with our defenders, and it’s probably in their minds because they are decent enough players with good footballing CVs
- Kevin didn’t pick a good team today, and should not have given starts to Carr, Butt and Smith when Enrique, Faye and Viduka were available, and they are simply better players than the 3 he started. That’s the mistake Sam kept making - picking what he thought were the best 11 players but playing them out of their position. It just doesn’t work as we proved yet again today.
Drop Smith because he doesn’t deserve to be the team on current performances, and play Beye and Enrique at full back, because they are the best we have.
We cannot have favorites at the club and risk relegation because of it. Keegan should always pick the best team available whether players get upset by being left out or not.
For heavens sake they are grown men - spoiled yes - but they still should be mature enough to be able to take being dropped.
- As an example of a player out of position - the first thing Carr did after 10 seconds into the game was he got the ball on his left side, and switched it over to his right - so he could kick it away. He’s just not a left back and shouldn’t be played there. Heaven knows what Enrique must be thinking - but he’s probably already got his bags half-packed to leave the club in the summer
- Kevin will need to have a no holds barred team meeting on Monday, and get to the bottom of what is wrong with these guys - they are not performing for this club - given the wages they are receiving and each one of them needs to look themselves in the mirror - hard. If they were to have a day off Monday - it should be canceled.
This club is too big and too proud to be relegated with the squad we have
- Kevin needs to get Alan Shearer in to help with the spirit and the coaching of the team. He needs to go out of his way in the next 2 weeks to work with Kevin, as much as he can, to help with the morale and training of these players. Newcastle needs Alan Shearer to help Keegan at the club right now and we expect Alan to respond - if at all possible
- If we are to get beaten 4-1 again this season ,then the players should make sure we don’t wave the white flag as soon as we go behind - that’s just not acceptable
- If the senior players aren’t willing to fight for the team in the remaining games - bring in the youngsters - they’ll be willing to fight for the team
Comments welcome - just keep the language decent for the kids.

Following Keegans success at Newcastle he has been nominated for an OBE “out before Easter”

Ed I fixed your post.
Didn’t see teh game but saw the starting line up somewhere about 3-1. When I read the starting line up I knew why…
This performance is simply inexcuseable. I do not know what to think really…

BLC.. add Kadar to that list also.

Keegan is not a defensive coach never has been and never will be,this situation wouldnt be to bad if we were scoreing goals but were not infact it doesnt look like were doing anything right on the field,i agree with ed bring on the young ones players need changing quickly, looks like boro have passed us in the league thats how bad.

Take a good look Mike Ashley, cause maybe you’re so called big investments in the transfer market might be too late in the summer.
NOBODY will come to us if we get relegated.
8 CJ // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:16
Spot on Hadji- I think mike Ashley and KK’s cautiousness in ths transfer market could see us being relegated.
9 daiv // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:18
Mike Ashley must be really worrried. He keeps making poor calls which look like costing him hundreds of millions. KK is an honourable man and would walk away if we got relegated.
This club is very dear to me but I am fed up with these so called stars ripping the supporters and club off. It would be better to get relegated and start again with young players who believe in the club. The Owens, red Butts and Vidukas of this world ..all money mercenaries…can clear off and depress some other club. Bring on the youth and the Championship!!!

The same shit players that got Leeds relegated are trying to take us down as well……This is crap
11 Michael // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:21
I said it before and will say it again. Keegan does not know tactics. You hire mediocrity, you get mediocrity, it is a simple equation. Keegan has always been mediocrity.
>Quit Newcastle
>Quit England “I do not know tactics”
>Quit city “I cannot get it right”
he has been out of football since 2004 and has not watched a game since 2005. What do you expect? Tripe.
12 daiv // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:25
Team selection was so peverse today you could almost say it was suicidal and deliberate. How can any manager make so many rank bad selections. What must Enrique and Viduka be thinking. Unbelievable Kevin. Time to put the tin lid on Messiah, because you are going to get exactly what Big Sam got. You deserve it more…at least Sam only played the wingers on their wrong wings. He did not play a useless right back at LEFT back when there is Enrique available.
13 kris // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:26
Bit harsh on Keegan that like micheal, players keep saying morale is high with the new manager we”ve seen nothing different yet
14 Michael // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:35
Fact of the matter is, you do not get a manager because the fans love him. He is not there to manage the fans but the players. Keegan was brought to manage the fans. Ashley knew the fans wanted keegan and would be slow to turn on him. He bought time.
Ashley is not willing to spend money, the lack of transfer activity in January attests to this and what is he paying Keegan. The cheapest option of managers out there. He sacked Sam because he was paying him too much.
15 ToonUSA // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:36
All its the curse of the Leeds players Vid, millner, and Smith. when you have players that relegated teams and everyone thinks they are great. so as far as they are concerned someone else will pick em up when we go down. Send Smith to the reserves until he learns how to score a goal, along with Millner until he figures out how to cross. and in regards to Vid well he is never fit nuff said.
I blame the players but i am baffled as to how much KK seems to favor the names of players like previous managers. I am trying not to freak out
16 John // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:36
why did’nt he make a change at 2-1 today? we were crying out for a change and it would off been ideal if Butt was taken off for Emre and smith for Viduka…
Its so annoying..Its not like Villa were good today either..All they did waslump the ball up to 2 big ooafs and still got 4 goals…They played crap also..
Its so annoying…..im not convinced about keegan now..
If this was big sam team now , everyone would be gunning for him

all season this has been going on .
we either score and fall asleep, only to concede mins later .
or we concede and fold like a deck of cards .
its horrible to watch , keegans right , grown men let themselves be bullied off the park in the second half .
anyone who go’s along with what the media tells you has no brain and doesnt deserve tobe listened to , keegan played at the top of the game for years and has managed for going on 20 year nearly , if you think a man like that isnt more savy about tactics than the likes of foul mouthed idiots posting on message boards , then you aswell dont deserve tobe listened to .

Drop Smith r u kidding? The owner wears his shirt to bed!!!!!
Smith is not adding to the team, at least that is how it seems to me. Yet Allydice played him consistently inspite of results, perhaps Keegans hands have been tied also.
To me that is that big question perhaps both managers have been told to build the team around him!!!!
I hope things change.

the worst thing about our football club is that we see these interviews all week every week , about how great the future is going to be and the club is moving in the right direction , all this b…l..ox .

I know there is trouble with Zog but he was completely missing from the squad today, is he really that unhappy? i think he would have made a difference today. We need a miracle to get a win against united. lets just start by scoring goals!
24 Rob Kirton // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:49
Michael:”Keegan has always been mediocrity.”
- Saving us from relegation - getting us promoted - almost winning Premier
- Getting Fulham promoted and up to their highest league position since Noah built an arc
- Getting Man City promoted and then into Europe
All without flashing the cheque book as much as people suggest. His poor buys are few and far between in comparison to other managers.
Or maybe I’m dreaming or have just made all of this up.
For God’s sake cut the guy some slack and give him a chance. I’d rather put faith in him than some of the no hopers and never will be characters we’ve had since he last managed us.

29 Dave Atkinson // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:51
I was there today (I live in Birmingham, in case you ask). Awful second half for sure but the first half was very good and we did a decent job of holding onto the ball. Once Vila equalised though and we had to up our game, the cracks began to show straight away. Butt, for all his pedigree, is past it at this level and is simply unable to provide any creative passing. Smith, full of tenacity maybe, doesn’t threaten as a striker and don’t deserve a place in the starting line-up on that basis alone. Carr worked pretty hard but is another one living on past reputation. Barton was mediocre but shouldn’t have been taken off.
What beats me is that KK didn’t start with Emre and Barton in the middle. Emre might be considered wasteful by some but that’s because he plays the risky (but potentially match-winning) pass. He can’t possibly get it right all the time. And I was surprised that KK didn’t bring on a third sub even though we were chasing the game.
KK will always have my support (even if we’re relegated as we’d come straight back up like a hurricane) but he must shake things up and that means no more picking players who are past their prime and who simply can’t perform at this level, however willing they might be. I’d prefere to see some youngsters in instead of Butt, Carr and Smith.

Rob: Are you suggesting Sir Bobby Robson is a no chancer?
31 Black and White Blood // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:52
Michael - Bollocks, as usual you are talking shit! The man has been here 4 weeks. None of you can judge his performance until next season once he has been allowed to bring in his own players. Look at Curbs at West Ham last season - Fooking fed up with what appears to be you so called glory supporters… I’ll happily eat humble pie if I’m wrong, but for god sake give the man a chance and get behind your so called team, or do you suppoert Sunderland..?
Do any of us know why KK does not select players, is it form skill or just dont try in training…None of us know. Yes I would have prefered different players, as would I would have been pleased to see new face in Jan, but we have to trust in KK and give him our support..
Fook me, Ed was really enjoying using this forum, but my god I’m ashamed to call myself a Geordie, I can now see why our fans are getting such a hard time in the press!
32 nufctj // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:54
john, yes I did, and it was poor
but….the match against villa is over, we learn, we make changes, we go forward..and all this talk about whether KK is up to it, is just rubbish and a waste of time.
33 Rob Kirton // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:55
John: I’d prefer we put out Henry up front and brought on Ronaldinho for a cameo second half performance. I think Keegan has to work with the squad he has. I think we all understand your frustrations and maybe he did make a bad call for a couple of positions. I suspect it wouldn’t have made a bit of difference.
KK is not to blame for the cumulative mismanagement of the club by directors and managers (SBR excluded) in the 11 years he was away.
It took a lot of time by a lot of people seriously crap at their job to get where we are at today.
34 Black and White Blood // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:57
@John - This is big Sams team!!!
35 Rob Kirton // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:58
GP: No it was just too difficult to list them all managers / coaches / directors. SBR was the exception. Rated him highly as Keegan, though I don’t think he had such a keen eye in the transfer market (either that or he was being nobbled by the fat controller)
36 Hammy // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:58
I’m looking at the current situation and the one common denomanator which I see over the last few years is a certain Terry Mac………a tactical genius? all I see is him on the touchline with a giant golden marker pen and a notepad…is he playing noughts and crosses with the subs or something?
Anyway nice to see the back of Nigel “BLUETOOTH” Pearson, now can we get some decent coaches please……..
37 nufctj // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:58
Rob Kirton, spot on! We are at the beginning of a new era at the club, there will be bumps in the road, but we need to stick by our plan to turn things around.
38 Michael // Feb 9, 2008 at 16:58
Look on the bright side, We have Keegan. You surround your self with crap, you get crap. Keegan is Crap. There are many managers we could have hired, anyone else other than Keegan. Why the go for English managers? They are crap!
I knew this is what we were in for when we brought that Muppet back to Newcastle.
Please guys, let us be pragmatic. We are a business and you never hire a manager who says he does not know how to do the core of his job (Tactics) Keegan said “I do not know tactics”
Please let us be realistic, we live in a real world, not a fantasy world.
39 GP // Feb 9, 2008 at 17:00
Yes I agree there Rob, Sir Bobby didn’t always bring in the best players.
40 Dragoner // Feb 9, 2008 at 17:00
regardless of what you think of keegan, we could have gotten camacho or deschamps. These names will attract players, why was keegan picked? a man who hasn’t managed for ages. fans cheered when he came, i bet half of them are seriously doubting keegan now, and the other half will follow if this crap continues. Ashley got the manager who he would have to pay the least and gave no money for transfers. he is cheap.
another thing, if buying no one in january was a “calculated gamble”, then why were we holding talks with teams for players? the whole thing was staged, we was never seriously going after these players, cheapy and mort were just trying to manipulate us, which would explain the odd alvaro situation and unrealistic barnes bid
41 Marty // Feb 9, 2008 at 17:01
I didnt agree with KK coming back, thought it was the wrong choice and just done for the fans sake but we gotta give him time.
Its was a load of CRAP today n was so hopeful after 1st half.couldn`t believe my eyes when Carr was on the left n Butt wasnt left at home.
We have talked about us being a top 4 club but our team has scored 5 goals in 9 games-Torquay would score more than that.
Poor tactics n team picking, get it right KK n we will get some points on the board.

Michael: You are a mackem and I claim my £5. I promise not to post a picture of you in your “Sewper Kev” - (the other one) red and white striped top :0)
Joking apart - on a more serious note. I look at Keegan and see a guy who “doesn’t do tactics” and gets results - check out his good managerial track record. Games won - position in league etc..
I see Allardyce who “does tactics” and his poor managerial track record in terms of results. Check that out also.
Keegan is better for us as a club than the likes of self appointed tactical geniuses such as Allardyce. Is Keegan an absolutely top draw manager? - probably not
Is he the best option open to us at this time? - of course he is. Unless of course you’d like to step into his job…. it ’s easy peasy isn’t it?
52 John H // Feb 9, 2008 at 17:12
Guess what - I watched this in a pub in Reading along side some Villa supporters. Good lads really. I said to them before the kick off - that the biggest problem we’ve got is that we are unfit we can only last out the first half. It takes time to get the muscles exercised to cope with stamina for the whole of the match. Let’s get the team trained up, this is all down to Sam’s training methods - a totally unfit side as seen in his matches where we walked about in our half. Keegan needs a team that can handle more than 90 minutes of constant running and giving. I believe it will come but not in this season. We need to keep trying as it should turn at some point. I pray.
BTW I agree we should have had Emre on sooner, we’ve put up with Car for too long - get rid. Enrique should be given more time at least he can be developed.
The loss was down to a couple of sloppy goals, that supprised the villa lads and me too. but then we went headless. Barton was on too long. Butt went crazy. I’ve had a few drinks so, my objectivity is a little suspect.
Keep the faith.
Keegan is the Messiah but even miracles take time.
Don’t read the mancs and London press, it will just annoy you.

God! Theres some rubbish being said in here today.
Here is the view of the UTD111 jury:
Team selection today was strange - our best defender or holding midfielder FAYE left on the bench
Our best available Left Back ENRIQUE left on the bench
Why? Only Kev knows
VIDUKA - left on the bench and not even brought on with 30/20 mns to go to try to change things? why? only Kev knows - but I have to say Viduka’s body language looked like the fat aussie barstard was in the huff ANYWAY.
Defence needs sorting and unfortunately we’ve just let a good coach and ex-centre half walk away…..
Is Sir Kevin our choice as manager?

My feeling is that Barton and Emre would make an outstanding central mid field duo. KK should give this a try. Emre in the attacking role, Barton as the holding mid. With Martins and Owen at forward and Milner, Zog or Duff on the flanks I think we could generate many more scoring chances.

73 Rob Kirton // Feb 9, 2008 at 17:25
Dragoner: certainly agree about Solano. However, maybe he was desperate to run away from his family in Newcastle rather than join his family in London. If you know why his wife left him you”ll know what I mean. I suspect there was no way we could ever hang on to him.
I don’t think he would ever have run enough / put in enough tackles and “done the figures” for him to be in any Sam Allardyce team.
I know we always disagree about Allardyce. The only mistake Ashley made in getting rid of him was not doing last summer before letting him bring in his recruits….

85 Michael // Feb 9, 2008 at 17:37
Kev is a Joker. I swear, because the guy did this in the 80s we think in 2008 he is going to do the same. Sorry dudes but his “swash buckling” “swagger” “Get up a em” and “in your face” football is not going to cut it.
sorry Rob, but you are as delusional as I first thought. While your support and willingness to stick to keegan is enviable, it is hooligan as well.
The guy should be in a circus. I could manage better than this crap on display.
To be a winner you need a winner. Not a quitter. What are the odds of him quitting. HE quits to save himself the humiliation of being Sacked.

86 JP from The Rock of Gibraltar // Feb 9, 2008 at 17:38
Dragoner- Scary but true. It does all look like a smoke screen from Mike Ashley. Your points have made me think and it scares me. I am having my first doubts on Mike Ashley. Why didn’t he up the Barnes bid?? We clearly need him (or any decent players for that matter) and it seemed he only offered a ridiculous amount to shut us up for now. We will be lucky to still be in the premiership come summer. This has got to be the most depressing season of the eleven years i support Newcastle. What the hell is going on?? I just can’t put my finger on it. Soooo many bad decisions have got us where we are now and I am afraid to think it might be the end for us. Keegan is at no fault for this but it did worry me to realize he had left Enrique, Emre and Viduka out of todays team. Another worry is Shay Given. What on earth has happened to him? He looks really uncomfortable and lacking confidence badly. Ever since Marlon Harewood ripped his stomach open the poor guy hasn’t been the same keeper and it seems he’s never recovered. I just can’t take many positives these days and it really, really worries me. I can only pray we get things right come summer. For starters get rid of the dead wood like Carr, Butt, Smith, Ameobi and Barton. No europe again next season maybe not even the premiership! Unbelievable.

89 Tripp // Feb 9, 2008 at 17:40
I suppose that Mr Ashley is learning the hard way how to run a football club. Perhaps his “friends” down in north London are playing a rather cruel joke. I agree that the sacking of SA would have seemed comical if it had happened to some other team. However, I don’t think we’d be in a different position in the table if he were still here. He’d have picked the same side that Keegan did. It really makes you wonder what the hell is going on on the training pitch because the teams that have been picked are so often not what the “fans” would have chosen.
90 GP // Feb 9, 2008 at 17:41
Michael: Just f**k off, alright? If you don’t like it, don’t support the club. You’re just spewing out the usual anti-Mag propaganda banded about by the london hacks and those inbreds down the road. In fact, I reckon you ARE one of those inbreds down the road.

You Newcaslte fans are a laughing stock, when keegan arrived you were all dancing in the streets saying he would bring the good old days (not that they were eer that good) back which all other football fans realised was a load of bollocks. Sacking Allardyce was ridiculous, the guy has a proven record and you were in 11th place! Not exactly terrible- the problem is newcastle fans view the club as a big one, which is simply is not. United is a big club, liverpool, arsenal, everton, villa, spurs- these are big clubs, newcastle are just a joke. Hilarious that some of you now want keegan out, ou played arsenal twice away, villa away- very tricky games. To be honest keegan should never have been appointed but now he has been you lot should get behind him- yet again newcaslte fans have proven themselves to be complete muppets.

ronaldeano - my sh1te is brown same as everyone elses.
I was just calling a spade a spade. King Kev hasn’t got much of a managerial record to speak of. He did do a good job for us - yes, but he did have a big sackful of cash to play with and the Prem was nowhere near as competitive back then. BUT at the end of the day we won feck all.

I totaly agree big pea, i am talking about the style of football that he will provide and the right players to provide it. We will get them because evry footballer in the world wants to play like that, they dont want to play boring, shit football SA played, nor do they want to play for a compleate TOSSER who thinks he is hard as fook like GS? Tell me a player who wouldent want to play for one of the best strikers Braitain has ever produced?

ronaldeano - weren’t you were one of the “fans” calling for BSA to be sacked?
How is that any different to someone criticising King Kev now?
It’s not like anyone is saying get rid of him - just that he couldn’t cut it in the past and he’s done nothing since to suggest it will be any different this time.
It’s sad but true.

They’re no good enough to improve our team (okay at times they could played well ) but actually just awaiting for worst & 2nd half proved it. KK mustn’t has favoured them these meaningless passengers in our team.

We are at 28 points, 6 pts from the drop zone.
Derby is gone, Fulham is gone barring a miracle, so that leaves 1 spot.
12 matches left, 36 possible points
6 home, 6 away
only 4 of the remaining matches are against teams below us, but of those 4, 3 are home matches.
10 more points will see us clear for sure. I have not one single doubt we can and will do that.

113 MiMo // Feb 9, 2008 at 18:05
Looks bad. Last 9 games have brought 3 points and the conceding of over 2 goals every game. Lets face it this is clear relegation form, worse than Derby County at the moment! Looking at the coming fixtures will I am sure, send a shiver down the spine of the staunchest fan. At home Blackburn, Fulham, Reading and Sunderland honestly look like the only possible wins. The other two are Man Utd and Chelsea. Away we have Liverpool, Spurs, Portsmouth, West ham and Everton which looks like zero points plus Birmingham. With 28 points at the minute and 41 the usual benchmark we need to win the first four home games I listed. In my opinion only Birmingham from the rest might yield up a point and at the moment that is optimistic. So how does anyone think those 4 games will go because for me both Blackburn and the Mackems look like banana skins and I honestly believe for the first time since promotion that the Toon are going down. There is an unstoppable momentum to this one and Mike Ashley’s sphincter is starting to twitch. In my opinion it was a big mistake not to get someone in during the window even if it was just to give everyone a boost.
114 Michael // Feb 9, 2008 at 18:05
I am no Mackem, of that I assure you all.
Guys, put yourself on the level of a business. That is what every football team is. A Business in which people invest money to make more money. You do not get a manager who says he cannot do his job. Can you imagine JP morgan or Citi group hiring a manager or CEO who says I cannot do the job. No…. The stake holders do not appoint the managers or CEO because they love him.
Faith is over rated. We need results not a feeling of comfort.
115 nufctj // Feb 9, 2008 at 18:05
as always, NUFC.com is spot on:
An absolutely shambolic second half showing at Villa Park left no-one in any doubt that the remainder of this season is now a fight against relegation.
Michael Owen’s fourth minute opener should have provided a platform for United to build on against a very ordinary Villa side who struggled to threaten us in a surprisingly comfortable first 45 minutes.
Two quick goals after the break sent us into an alarming downward spiral with the third goal taking us to a new level of defensive incompetence.
And as for Stephen Carr’s handball for the fourth…. Words aren’t adequate to describe the stupidity of this rotten right back who is twice as bad at left back.
Joey Barton and Alan Smith are two players not good enough to be anywhere near a first team place, based on performance, but this threadbare squad is struggling to suggest any replacements.
On today’s second half showing, you’d even welcome back Geremi. That’s how desperate it was.
If Mark Viduka was fit enough to be on the bench, then why he didn’t replace Smith is an absolute mystery. He certainly couldn’t have been any worse at holding up the ball.
All we can say is we hope you took advantage of Paddy Power’s 12/1 on Owen to score first. It was the only possible consolation from this nightmare.

Don’t let facts get in the way of slagging off people with opinions that can’t be backed up. I pointed to Keegans achievements as a manager. He achieved more at NUFC than any of his predecessors post 97 and he had fine achievements at both Fulham and Man City. What is so wrong with saying that?

ronaldeano - we both want the same thing at the end of the day - the Toon to finally win something.
I’ve been supporting NUFC for about 23 years now and things are as bad as they’ve been for a very long time right now. I’ve never really been worried about being relegated from the Prem, but I am now.
I, like you, think NUFC have far too many quality (albeit under-performing) players to go down - but I’m pretty sure Leeds and West Ham fans have felt the same in seasons past. So that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
I’m not slagging off KK - I really like him - I just don’t think he was the right appointment, and unfortunately he hasn’t said or done anything so far to make me change my mind.
Now let’s just put all this mackem clap-trap to bed - I’m pee’ed off enough already without being called a mackem.

Just got home. At least my local basketball team won to save a horrific Saturday.
I think i’ll turn into a junkie but that won’t give me the mood changes a NUFC game gives me. Happy in the first half, devastated in the second.
Given has been poor this season but today he really fooked’ us. Don’t get the impression that he’s injured, KK did good by giving him a slap and taking him off. Harper was great, he should start for a while now.
As most of you i can’t understand why KK keeps playing the usual suspects, Butt and Smudger (as much as i like him) were shocking. Carr didn’t disappoint as we all know he’s crap, but to his credit he at least gave it his all today.
Emre when on did great, if this isn’t a wake up call for KK, i don’t know what is.
Cacapa had a shocker, i still think he will come good though.
Joey was mediocre but he worked like a madman, he did everything. Did you guys watch Butt ?? He was just standing there, pointing to his teammates who to mark while he was picking he’s nose. He continued he’s conssistant for of being absolutely shite.
On the bright side, Owen was brilliant and Beye and Jimmy were decent.
I don’t know what’s up with Duffer. Did any of you guys watch Ireland - Brazil ??? He was terrific, we ran the show, he was more brazillian that the Brazil players. And then he comes in and delivers and utter shite’ performance today……..
I don’t care if we get relegated anymore, these players have lost their way. Drop the whole lot,bar Owen, Faye and Beye and bring on the kids and teach this sorry bunch a lesson.
I’m so depressed i even passed an opportunity to shag’ my bird…..and believe you me, you can’t get more depressed then that.
Can’t wait for Manure to come and give that shagging to us……………………come place a small fortune on the 8-0 final score for Manure, it’s a banker.

Already been said but there were better players on the bench than on the pitch. No wonder Viduka looked pissed off when he had to watch Smith trying to imitate a centre forward. That is the best team and most fans know it. Unfortunately, the fans are not being paid FIVE MILLION, because when you get paid that much you seem to lose touch with reality. Keegan is cursed with brain damage and seem to think that the spine of the team revolves around Smith and Butt and Carr. All the sensible fans know they shoulld be playing for Hartlepool reserves. If keegan keeps picking them, ( and i think he will) we will get relegated. He picks Smith (NO GOALS IN 26 GAMES) ahead of Viduka. No wonder Viduka looked pissed off. I would like to ask Keegan why he picks Butt Smith and Carr. he will probably talk rubbish about commitment, fighting spirit etc. I can give the team that but Im useless like them.

Its only been 5 HARD games, give the massiah time to MEET his new team. next season you will see the DRASTIC change in form of the toon, the shit will be out, the quality will be in, the attacking football we all crave will also be in. Look forward lads, not back.

Lets not doubt KK, it’s the team that worries me. We should be playing much better with the players we’ve got. Lets hope Martins starts scoring for us again.

Ronaldeano,
Sam was a clown but Kevin wants to surpass him. Don’t get me wrong, Kevin is a hero of mine. Ive supported NUFC over 40 years home and away and he gave us the best years since 1927. I just think he is past his sell by date. I still luv the guy to bits (always will) but think times have moved on massively since 1996 and wish for old times sake and to cherish his memory that he had not come back. If he picks Butt smith carr, we are going down.

why was emre enrique viduka on the bench for carr butt and smith are worst 3 players
o dear we are in trouble xx
156 hanz_emre // Feb 9, 2008 at 19:43
Please KK just start the remainder of the games with Emre-Faye or Emre-Barton in CM. NOMORE BUTT to start with & if possible keep him away from pitch…just training ground can do. & Please NO SMITH too, just use MO-Viduka (if fit) / MO-Carrol instead. Use Enrique reguarly as Carr as he always was unreliable/crap at RB twice worse at LB.WE’ then get some stability, composure in games & as many points to see out this season.Arghhh… sorry guys am still can sleep thinking of what am wrong but pretty sure i knew some NU player were doing wrong to us fans.

Daiv, i hope it works out for KK, If we get it goin next season and win sumthin, how fookin unreal would that be. the season was fooked before KK came, he will pick his best team in the summer, and we will FLY!
159 daiv // Feb 9, 2008 at 19:55
Ronaldeano,
Kevin is fighting to keep us up. I’m worried he is making serious mistakes (Butt Smith Carr). The rest of the team is not good enough to carry them. We will not be flying next season if we end up in the Championship. Kevin will not be there..it will be a disaster for all. Somebody needs to tell him that certain players are useless…it seriously worries me that he cannot see that. Talk of bringing back Henry (past his sell by date as well..can you see Wenger buying him back?) concerns me about Keegan’s general assessment of players.

Daiv, thats the worst case senario, we hwve had the shit kicked out of us in the last, well, a lot of games recently, but there are a few teams in the league that are a lot worse than us, which means that we will stay up and kick on next season. KK will sort it, keep the faith mate!
