Jose Enrique Hoping For All 3 Points At Liverpool

Friday March 7th, 2008 by Ed Harrison· 5 Comments

Spaniard Jose Enrique had a very good game last Saturday against Blackburn and he will be at left back again tomorrow at Liverpool, where he is looking forward to playing against some of his countrymen.

Jose Enrique - starting to show very good form

Liverpool’s Spanish manager Rafa Benitez has ensured there is a full contingent of Spanish players at the club having signed Jose Reina, Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres. Torres of course is in red hot form at the moment - having scored two successive hat tricks, but we are still hoping he will be rested tomorrow.

Newcastle have scored only 6 league goals since their December 23rd 2-2 draw with Derby County. That’s 11 league games for 6 goals and Fernando takes just two games on his lonesome to get 6 goals. Quite a player is this young man.

Jose told nufc.co.uk, today:

“It’s just another game for me but I do know some of the Spanish players for Liverpool, so in that way it is a little special, and their manager Rafa Benitez,” “Players like Jose Reina, Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres have all done very well in the Premier League.”

“For me it is no surprise that they have done well because if you are a good player it doesn’t matter what league you play in, you can do well.”

“And you can adapt which is what they have done.” “But I hope that I can come out on top with Newcastle because we need the points at the moment.”

“Last week against Blackburn was a lot better, despite the result, and I hope we can build on that at Anfield.” “I have played against Fernando in La Liga during my time at Villarreal,” “He was with Athletico Madrid then and he did very well.”

“He is quick and scores goals, he will be a threat to us at the weekend.”

Good comments from Jose and we are hoping he will still be at the club next season and that the rumors he is unsettled on Tyneside are just that - rumors.

We think the 22 year old Spanish Under-21 International can make the left-back spot his very own in the next few seasons, he’s that promising with loads of potential.

Comments welcome.

i think enrique is great and will get alot better in the coming seasons
but tbh i rekon he will go back to spain at end of season in all honesty … why cum up north and only play half the games when he can go back to spain play a full season and have more of a chance at getting in the spain squad in good weather
his prediciment reminds of Del Horno who was at chealsea for a seaon
hope he bloody stays tho !!

Thought that he was injured thats why h hasn’t been playing under KK. Good prospect with good feet who will only improve with time. Some of the other 6 mil signings should be the first to go, ie after we avoid relagation.
Shock for in form Liverpool when Newcastle come away with 3 points

the game tomorrow should be a good one, way better than when they beat us 3-0 last time at home! if we play in the same way we did against blackburn i think we stand a good chance. as for the relegation issue, as long as we win the easier games, ie fulham, birmingham, reading, dirty mackems, then we’l be doing swimmingly old chums :)
