Newcastle United Reserves will play Bolton Wanderers tonight when they will give Lamine Diatta, Senegal’s captain, his first game in Newcastle’s famous black and white stripes.

Lamine Diatta - in Reserves line-up tonight
Peter Ramage will play his first competitive game since recovering from his ACL knee injury he sustained last August, in the away game at Middlesbrough.
Ramage and Diatta will both play at the County Ground home of Lancashire FA in Leyland, with a KO time of 7:00 pm.
It wouldn’t surprise us if Kevin Keegan attends the game, to check on several of the players.
Also getting games tonight are Fraser Forster, Andy Carroll and Shola Ameobi (remember him). Youngsters Ben Tozer, Tamas Kadar and 20 year old captain David Edgar also get games.
Newcastle Reserve manager Adam Sadler starts with the following team for tonight’s game:
Newcastle United: Fraser Forster, Ben Tozer, Tamas Kadar, David Edgar, Lamine Diatta, Peter Ramage, Jonny Godsmark, Mark Doninger, Shola Ameobi, Andy Carroll, Kazenga LuaLua
Subs: Darren Lough, Max Johnson, Callum Morris, Wesley Ngo Baheng, Fabio Zamblera

2 ToonKing // Mar 18, 2008 at 12:45
we have a quite strong reserve team tbh….
3 Mar.k // Mar 18, 2008 at 12:56
Id rather play Wes or Fab instead of that dozey Ameobi.
And RAMAGE?!?!? is he back ffs, christ help us! he will be in the papers yapping as usual about how the team should be and he should be in the team. he is a money grabber.
Remember, “Im going to Watford!”
2 days later newcastle give him like 2k more and he is like “Yes I will stay!”

Where is Alan Smith ? Shouldn’t he think he can learn something from Ameobi of how to score in reserve games before considering himself any good in our 1st team ?

Tozer will play left midfield he has done for Swindon.

I dont know why Ramage gets such a hard time i like him and he never gets played at CB where he has played very well when given the opportunity.
If Diatta and Ramage play well then they might start aginst fulham after the way Faye and Taylor played last night.

Give it a try KK and we will thump the cockney bastards for 5 or 6

I liked GEREMI very in the game, so why change it? Zoggy isn’t that special one anymore this season…maybe he needs time to reflect and decide what he wants to do with his career…so if you want to have more attacking power get DUFF in maybe in 2nd half…but why not start again with GEREMI?
TAYLOR did better than FAYE, but you’re right, both not realy stabile as we would need it. I would prefer to try to team up the senegal-connection? Why not, give it a try!

Team I’d love to see against Fulham

That first 11 would be far too much for Fulham. At least 3-0 with this line up
9 Tom_Toon // Mar 18, 2008 at 15:02
Id like to see:
Harper
Beye Edgar Faye Enrique
Barton Butt Emre
Martins Viduka Owen
10 James // Mar 18, 2008 at 15:03
Tom_Toon - Emre is injured.
11 Tom_Toon // Mar 18, 2008 at 15:11
Hes fit for Fulham i think.
12 James // Mar 18, 2008 at 15:18
He’s not back until 5th of April, neither is Milner
13 Tom_Toon // Mar 18, 2008 at 15:20
Id play N’zogbia in his place then.

James .. Good Line Up..
On The Martins Incident Last Night .. Look How Keegan Handled It .. Martins Calmed Down As He Talked To Him.. Good Man Management..
Keegan Will Come Good.. But We’ve Got To Give Him Timee.. Even Though Ive Got A Bad Feeling that MA is going to do something stupid soon
15 ScottyT // Mar 18, 2008 at 15:30
for once tom_toon i kinda agree with that lineup although only change for me would be faye into midfield instead of thuggy and then either taylor/cacapa/diatta in fayes place not bothad really
16 James // Mar 18, 2008 at 15:33
Benn - I agree, Sam would have just punched him.
The funny thing is that if it had been Viduka he’d have waddled off gladly and got stuck into another pie.
If you cut Martins he would bleed black and white.
I still agree with KK though - it will be Owen’s goals that will keep us up this year.

Emre was due back for this weekend, I even checked out physioroom.com this morning, now when I cecked it has indeed have him as 5th April !!!!!!!!!!
Might aswell forget him for the team this season, shame as he can take great corners and freekicks! Unlike Geremi.
18 Benn..Geordie Down South // Mar 18, 2008 at 16:08
James .. Yes.. You Can See How Much It Means To Martins.. by the way he has played in the last 2 games..
Oba And Owen Can Keep Us Up..
Think Viduka Should Go In The Summer .. Along With Barton, Butt, Ameobi, Milner and Geremi..
Bring In Players Like Shorey [Reading], Hunt [Reading], Who Play For Pride Not Money.!!

e definatley should have taken all three points on saturday i would play the same team apart from swap nzogbia for geremi i think that would give us somethin different a bit more pace and creativity in midfiled and he could give us a bit of width as he could drift out when martins decides to go down the middle i wasnt to impressed with faye last night but i wouls still keep him in the team i think viduka should keep his place as he might have not played that well but gives us something different as he is a master at holding up the ball
21 scott9 // Mar 18, 2008 at 16:43
bean geordie i agree i think hunt would be a good signing i think reading have alot of players i would take for the toon e.g james harper shorey kitson hunt

Kerlon, no thank you. Hes been out for almost 2 seasons with persistant knee injuries which have blighted his development.
Afterall Daniel Braaten of Bolton can do the seal dribble, nowt special.
24 Hadji // Mar 18, 2008 at 17:40
Wow.. i didn’t know about the injuries but Braaten or no Braaten you have to have balls to make this move.I saw your video about Kompany i must say that i was impressed with his techical abilities.
25 Tom_Toon // Mar 18, 2008 at 17:44
CM has got to be the priority and i like Dessena.
26 Hadji // Mar 18, 2008 at 17:47
How bout Dosena from Udineze i watched him few times and he was amazing.
27 Benn..Geordie Down South // Mar 18, 2008 at 18:28
scott 9 .. yes.. definatly.. all quality players..
28 Whitt // Mar 18, 2008 at 20:01
Max Johnson…what a great name!
29 Spyro // Mar 18, 2008 at 20:24
can we please stop with the “cockney bastard” insults, i am an NUFC supporter from London and there are many others here.
Hadji i aint really a big kerlon fan, he is a good flare player but ultimately lives off of his nickname The Seal
30 Spyro // Mar 18, 2008 at 20:25
cm, lets get biglia from anderlecht

Beye—–Faye—–Diatta—-Enrique
—————Biglia———————-
Taarabt———Sidwell—V.Sanchez
——-Derbyshire——Martins——-
subs: Zarate, Taylor, Barnes, Given, Carroll
sold or released: Owen, Duff, Emre, Ameobi, N’Zogbia (swapped for taarabt), Viduka, Carr, Smith, Geremi, Butt, Barton
The first eleven is very much a possibility, there are no players we absolutely couldn’t get. The midfield has the ability to play the football we all want to see, flashy, along the ground stuff.
