Mark Viduka knows that Saturday’s game against Fulham will not be easy game for the home side, because Fulham will be fighting for the full 90 minutes. Fulham manager Roy Hodgson will guarantee that.
Mark Viduka - Newcastle will have fight on their hands against Fulham
One of the really disappointing aspects of Newcastle form over the last 3 months, has been that they just haven’t been up for the fight, when things have become difficult in games. The most recent example of this serious failing was against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago. The team held out quite well for the first 43 minutes but once that first goal - a real fluke- went in Newcastle looked so fragile and conceded another two goals in 8 minutes.
And when you are 3-0 down at Anfield, things can become a little difficult.
Mark Viduka has been missing through niggly injuries far to much this season, but we’ll not dwell on that again.
Mark spoke to BBC Radio Newcastle today:
“When you’re desperate you find energy from everywhere and you fight for every ball,” “That’s what we have to do as well and it could change the whole scenario.”
“I would have liked to have played more games, especially for Kevin Keegan,” “I had a bit of a problem with my calf and hamstring and I couldn’t play.”
We were very pleased with Mark’s performance and attitude last Monday night at St. Andrews. Since that game Mark has said several times how he loves playing for Kevin Keegan. Was it the Mail that tried to say there was a falling out between Mark and Kevin? Of course it was made up tripe again from the gossip press.
But now Mark is fit again we hope to see the form he is capable of over the last 8 games of the season. It’s really frustrating that Mark is out so much, because when he’s in the mood, he can be a top holding striker, and he showed glimpses of that last Monday.
It’s both men’s responsibility to ensure Mark is in the mood, and we’ll just have to see how Viduka shapes up for Keegan. If Monday night is anything to go by, considering he had been out several weeks, we think Mark may just produce some of his best form of the season in the vital run in to thew season. 
In fact the trio of Viduka, Owen and Martins looked great on Monday, especially in the second half. We will need more of that menace on Saturday, if we are to beat the Cottagers.
It’s almost a must-win game for us if we are to finally start pulling away from the relegation zone. We’ve been down there far too long.

if Viduka can produce a HUGE shite in the bottom of the toilet before a game, so it dosent weigh him down even more than his belly does, and he can score a few more goals….

I reacon that there is more to it than we know? I think that even if we stay up, no, WHEN SAFETY IS CONFIRMED, Zog will still be sold in the summer because he wants to move to London Big Pea. I hope im wrong like

zog can move on, we only want players who want to play for toon
anyways he is far too overrated and inconsistent , too much dribbling resulting in no end product and no work ethic, such attitude wont let him succeed anywhere no team in the top 4 would toerate it and even in spurs he would rot in the subs

He’s also scored some goals… 2 very important ones against Derby, for example.

Viduka is superb talent, its a pity hes not been fit enough to play. When he has played this season, some of the time he hasn’t 100% and it has showed, both in hunger and movement. Lets hope he is over his injuries now and can play a big part in us staying up.
Id like to see him and Owen up front on Saturday with Oba playing left forward channel / dropping back in left midfield wen not with ball.
If Owen is not playing well, take him off for Zogs to play left wing and oba moved upfront.
For me Oba and Viduka have to play as they have the ability to create chances for themselves and others.
Its no coincidence that a good performance came when Alan Smith wasn’t leading the line, hes complete tosh upfront and was only made to look god for Man Utd as they are after all Man Utd. Smith must have had pace when decent at Leeds, god knows how he scored? anyone know? lol.

Its Vidukas contract thats the problem, they keep paying him in cash which he’s got loads of, when he should be getting paid in pies…..if he had a pie to goal ratio arranged we’d be laughing…goals galore !

He’s the only target man we’ve got and has a lot of talent to go with it. Obviously he’s no Alan Shearer but he covers that role pretty well in my opinion.
I was so encouraged to see Keegan playing 3 up front the other night. I thought it worked pretty well and it also seemed to spur the midfield into life, once they knew they had to work much harder than in a flat 4. Now if only any of them could actually pass the ball …
We have three world class strikers (OK that’s being slightly generous to Viduka) and we should just stick them in the team and try to score some goals. We are not going to sort out our defence before the end of the season so we might as well get back to the “one more than you” mentality that Keegan finds so natural.
My top team just now would be this (assuming Milner, Emre and Given are all injured):
Harper
Beye - Taylor - Faye - Enrique
Geremi - Barton - N’Zogbia
Martins - Viduka - Owen
Subs: Forster, Edgar, Butt, Smith, Ameobi
(With Milner, Emre and Given fit, I’d play all of them, with Geremi and N’Zogbia dropping out of midfiled and Butt and Smith dropping off the bench)

I think Viduka had one of his better games last week in a black n white strip, although he needs to stop trying the little trick passes. He did well holding the ball up and getting turned to go at the defense but we need midfield to step up and get forward on the attack.
