Will Newcastle Attract Chimbonda To Tyneside?

Tottenham Hotspur defender Pascal Chimbonda’s agent, doesn’t yet know if Tottenham will offer his client a new contract at the end of the season.

Pascal Chimbonda - good attacking full-back - available?

New Spurs manager Juande Ramos, has said that he will probably not want to keep the full-back once the summer arrives. Pascal can play on either side and would be a good squad player for us. When we’ve seen his play for Spurs he’s looked good.

Roger Boli told Setanta Sports:

“We expect to discuss a contract extension for Pascal when the season ends,” “We will see what the possibilities are with the club. Everything will depend on Spurs’ directors.”

“It’s up to them to decide if they want to keep him or not.” “I’m optimistic in both options: The first one would be Pascal being offered a new deal and the second one would see him being transferred by Spurs.” “I know they want to keep him.”

“Newcastle’s offer was serious, but they are in a bizarre situation right now and I don’t know if Kevin Keegan will stay at the club next season so let’s wait and see.”

Interesting last comment from Boli.

But that’s exactly why we need to start pulling away from the relegation zone, if we are to attract good players to the club in the summer. We’ve shot ourselves in the foot too many times this season, and for a team that aimed at finishing in the top 6 this season, we’ve been hopeless far too many times.

We know our readers are not sold on Pascal, but we think he would be an excellent acquisition in the summer. He seems just the type of player who would fit in well, with Keegan’s attacking style of play.

He is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. He missed a penalty last week and the look on his face told me that he dident give a monkeys tit that he missed. Is this the kind of player that we want at our fantastic club when we have a class full back in Habib Beye? NOOOOOOOOO!!!

Don’t wanna be a nerd Ronaldeano but Ed recently asked us all to keep the language down for the kids who regularly visit the site. Bar that though, I agree in that Beye is better than Chimbonda will ever be, IMO Chimbonda cares more about his paycheck than his match ratings.

With this seasons target ‘top 6’ (me included) – i feel we need to accept unless Big Mike gets his hand really deep into his large pockets we are no longer are a top 6 club. Our defensive record this term I’m sure you’ll all agree is appalling!! Barton needs to be dropped and bring back emre – game after game he fails to perform although he still gets praised by KK. I don’t have any worries of relegation – not with Bolton and the Mackems run in.
Don’t want to sound too negative but if you were a top player or an up and coming star would you fancy your chances in TOON??
And let’s hope big Mike digs deep!

I do not see any reason for us to be interested in him (if we stay up). Beye is way better so he would only be a squad player - and I don’t fancy him coming here for the money just to sit on the bench. He’s not better than Beye (and Enrique), he was pure crap against Chelsea yesterday for example.

have always liked chimbonda

he is a good versitile full back, its good that he can play anywhere along the backline, whether its center back left back or right back. and is not a short arse like some of our previous full backs were.

chimbonda was at fault for 2 of chelsea’s goals the other day , he practicaly gifted one of them and looked hopless for the other , not the kind of player we want .

Chimbonda is a prime example of the foreign shite we have playing in our wonderful league now days. He does not give a shite about the club he is at, he is purely in it for the money. Look at the way he left Wigan for Tottenham. I would rather have my Nan playing for us at full back next season. She is no where near as good but at least she cares about our beloved Toon.

Miguel, that’s right, forgot his name there :D, he’s a great fullback, hes a decent defender but superb going forward, just what i like to see.

As for Cocis, Tom_Toon, i haven’t seen a lot of him lately since he moved to Russia, but he was considered a huge talent, he’s versatile, can score a lot goals, very decent player overall.

Lets get a couple things straight.

- I saw Chimbonda take that penalty and it is unfair to say he looked like he didnt give a monkeys.
- Chimbonda is good at RB and has been for a few seasons now, but his attitude stinks and he is all about his money.
- Ferreira is a crap player both defensively and offensively.
- Evra is a LB not a RB and he is very good going forward, but average at best defensively. The Mn United v Tottenham game stands testimony to that.
- Miguel will probably never come to NUFC and will probably go from Valencia to Chelsea or another team like that

Yeah, Dzsudzsak is a brilliant talent who just emerged last year. Hungary is starting to have a eally good generation now, with a lot of youngsters emerging. Dzsudzsak at PSV, Filkor Attila at Inter, there are 3 youngsters at Liverpool, Huszti Szabolcs at Hannover, Fulop Marton at the mackems and of course our very own Kadar Tamas.
Oh and i almost forgot the best player in the Championship, Gera Zoltan.

Laurent Robert was one of my fovourite players of all times.
Almost all my Newcastle kits are with his name on the back.I still remember his free kick against Fabian Barthez..ouuu those were the days.My friends used to think that he’s my twin brother cause we’re so identical.

Chimbonda would have fitted in at Newcastle about 4 years ago, along with other money grabbing prima dona knobs such as Jenas and Dyer. absolutely no point in going for him as he won’t be keen to sit on the bench (although he actually might be if the wages are high enough) and is no way as good as Habib Beye. overated, arrogant and extremely one-footed…. no thanks
