Michael Owen talked to the Evening Chronicle today about visiting the stadium where he broke his foot a few years ago, but Michael is currently full of confidence having scored 4 of the team’s 6 goals under Kevin Keegan.

Michael Owen - ready to face Woodgate again
Michael Owen talked to the Chronicle:
“Looking back at that day at Spurs it was a bad part of my career, as it probably set the ball rolling for all the injuries – the broken foot and cruciate – I’ve had at Newcastle.”
“It was a troubled time, but certainly I don’t believe it’s an unlucky place. I’ve played there many times, and scored goals there before.”
“I am looking forward to it – I won’t be concerned going into the game. We’ve had a decent week, and pushed up the table a little bit.”
It looks like Michael will be playing against his old Real Madrid team-mate Jonathan Woodgate tomorrow, since Woodgate seems to be fit to play for Spurs. It’s just a pity Jonathan didn’t come to Newcastle in January because we’d be in a much better position if he had arrived.
Michael continued:
“Woody is a great friend of mine, and a great friend of most of the Newcastle lads, really.”
“Everyone at the club and all the fans love him as well. He’s a good lad, and a fantastic player. I’ll be looking forward to seeing him again so soon after this week’s trip to France.”
“Spurs are on an upward curve, so anything we can get out of that game will be a bonus.”
We need at least a draw tomorrow, but a win would go a long way to vanquishing the relegation worries on Tyneside, and give the Newcastle fans a rare time for celebration this season.
What do you think?
Comments very welcome.

Jan Koller is shocking, 1 goals in about 28 this season. Alan Smith quality.

Come on MO, Viduka, Martins & the others go out there & score goals for us as we can win this game. Their defense are no better than us. Might be a 4-3 win for the Toon.
