Wednesday April 23rd, 2008 by Ed Harrison· 12 Comments

With our improved form over the last several weeks, it’s not surprising that Newcastle now have 3 players in the Actim Ratings Top 100 Premiership players.

Actim Stats Explained

Actim Stats are a collection of team, player and match statistics.

They are derived from all the actions that take place during a match, including goals, shots on target, corners, fouls, offsides, passes, tackles, blocks and clearances. The raw data can be used to generate a wide range of tables and statistics such as player profiles, team and player head-to-heads and form guides.

PA Sport gathers match data for every Barclays English Premier League, Coca-Cola Championship and Scottish Premier League game.

The data is gathered by two methods - real-time match analysis and the study of video footage. The real-time analysis is conducted by ex-professional footballers that report on action at the grounds as it happens. Further, more detailed analysis is obtained by studying videos of the matches.

I agree ToonKing, it is bollox, if we are supposed to currently be the form team we should have more players in the top 100. Where is Beye, he is the best player in our team at present. I would have Michael at number 2 in the list with Number 1 obvious.

bill f, the stats are over the whole season, r u honestly tellin me u think owen has been the second best player in the epl this season, have a word with yourself mate, we r only the form team in the last 5 games so thats why weve hardly got any players in it, its obvious that the majority of players who play for teams above us in the league are going to be better in the stats depatment

Cheat-aldo must be top of the diving, cheating, whining & crying like a baby league as well!..
…It’s funny how when players like him & gerrard & the like have cack games no one mentions it…Strange that, isn’t it?..
…How messy have manure’s defense looked in recent games, but still no slagging, hmmmm!..

Geordie Nick, I was under the impression that it was based on current recent form. I still can’t see how Taylor and Butt figure higher than Beye.

Beye should be in there with a shout. I am curiousto know where he stands compared to the likes of lets say, Brown. Wes Brown is absolute SHITE and I am overjoyed that he didn’t sign for us…THANK GOD!!
