Kevin Keegan is forced to make one change to the team which beat Sunderland last weekend as 20 year-old David Edgar makes his second start of the season for the injured Abdoulaye Faye.
Nicky Butt makes his 100th start for the Magpies where he is joined again by Joey Barton and Geremi.
This will be another good test for young David, but he deputized very well for Steven Taylor in the 3-0 win against Reading. Senegal captain Lamine Diatta comes in to replace Edgar on the substitutes’ bench.
There’s no room on the bench for either James Milner or Emre.
For West Ham Scott Parker starts, but Nobby Solano is only on the subs bench.

Just saw the hightlights. Correct me if I’m wrong on these:
Their first was a nice cross from the left but I think our CBs should have had it covered.
Their 2nd was a long ball hoof from the goal keeper right to Ashton, who demolished Taylor to score.
Great ball from Barton over the top for our 1st goal–similar to their 2nd in a way–Ashton’s power neutralized by Oba’s speed.
Our 2nd–couldn’t really make it out. Was it an Oba shot deflected?

Sounds like Edgar was poor alongside Taylor who has been poor all season imo. So drop both of them to the bench next season and play Faye and Diatta CB. Edgar will take the blame for both him and Taylor of course
