Kevin Keegan has reflected today on his first few months back in the Newcastle manager job, since returning to the club in January.

Kevin Keegan - on the training field
Kevin talked today how much he has enjoyed being back at Newcastle:
“For me, I have really enjoyed coming back to the club I love. I am surprised how it has moved on.”
“It’s fantastic, the training ground, you can see money being spent on new pitches because the investment was not put in last year,”
“So lots of things are very positive about this club and a few little negative things from different areas but you take half of them with a pinch of salt.”
“From where I sit, it is almost laughable.”
Kevin has also insisted the club’s recruitment drive is continuing in top gear, after missing out to Tottenham in the chase for Croatia midfield star Luka Modric.
We’ve covered a few of the potential targets we think the club is after, over the last few days, including Sol Campbell of Portsmouth, Miguel Veloso of Sporting Lisbon and Eidur Gudjohnsen of Barcelona.
There will be more going on behind the scenes, we’re sure of that.
Comments very welcome.

I work at Freshfields (Where Chris Mort is partner) and one of my colleagues has just told me that he saw Keegan getting in the lift half an hour ago. Although they’re all winding me up at the moment about him getting sacked so this could be a wind up as well, but I don’t think so. Dunno if any news will come about at the end of the meeting as I imagine they’re just talking about transfer targets and possible player contracts etc for next season. So why would they say anything but something along the lines of “It was a positive meeting”. So to summarise, the meeting is going ahead now!
