We were all set to launch this earlier in the week but were beaten to it by the Official Newcastle United site.

Well, we’ve decided to go ahead with the poll in any case.
We’ve selected a subset of the players you can vote for - please register your vote - thanks.

9 Magpie6699 // May 17, 2008 at 10:45
Close call - Owen a revelation and Faye had strength and class - BUT for a first season in the premiership and to play the way he did - I agree Beye

HABIB BEEEYEEEEE!!!!!!!

Nicky Butt.. Just shades it over Beye for me..
12 Davies // May 17, 2008 at 11:05
Nicky Butt’s been good in the revival, but he was dogshit for the rest of the season. Beye has been consistant throughout and his work rate has been superb. I’d like to say that Milner was my player of the year, but I think Beye pips him to it.

Habib Beye, all the way!..
…What a 1st season in a new country, took him about 15 seconds to adapt…Showing that it is indeed possible & that all the crap pundits dole is an excuse they use for players that they want to do well but fail?..

Beye’s Getting My Vote

Beye by a 100 miles!
What a player! The best one this season in his first year in England!
16 SééBéé // May 17, 2008 at 11:09
Taylor for me. The future and present of defending for Newcastle and England. Specially since Keegan coming in he has been outstanding. He is finally growing to be a perfect defender.

Habib Beye, easily.
18 Punk Skunk // May 17, 2008 at 11:10

5th Harper
Big Podium……
20 Vitorbarbosa // May 17, 2008 at 11:13
I will vote for Geremi. Ed, Can you please add his name in?
I think he deserve it because he is part of the team when we start our season where results going our way, and he also in the team when we are on the finest run of the season. He missed the worst part of the campaign.
21 Vitorbarbosa // May 17, 2008 at 11:17
Omg, even NUFC official site also does not has Geremi as an option.
22 OzZyMagpiE // May 17, 2008 at 11:23

23 faustino // May 17, 2008 at 11:37
Harper/Given becuase tbh in this and the last three seasons we’ve been kept in the Prem by having two stunning goalkeepers.

I know its a weird one but Viduka. Every game he has apeared in he has made a big difference. Its been a different team with the Duke.

Ive voted for who i felt was the most important this season, so i went for Owen his goal at Birmingham was the most vital of the season as it proved to be an up turn in our fortunes and his return to form has been the main reason we werent relegated.
Although due respect to Beye, Faye, Milner, Butt, Martins and Harper who have excelled this season.
31 SB // May 17, 2008 at 12:55
MO, saved us from relegation tbh

HABIB BEYE if half our 1st team put as much effort into fixtures as beye did we would have had a half decent season lets hope his form rolls over to next season which with the natural talent he’s shown no worrys
36 Julio Geordio // May 17, 2008 at 15:15
The boy Beye without a shadow of a doubt.
37 Uatu The Watcher // May 17, 2008 at 17:20
1st the impressive mr. bye
2nd mr. harper (for being a loyal servant, not enough of them these days)
2nd mr.butt ( when playing as a DM, not when he’s trying to be a playmaker)
3rd the real mr.faye (gotta thank BSA for this)
38 Spyro // May 17, 2008 at 17:28
Milner has not excelled this season
39 matthewt // May 17, 2008 at 20:30
Harper definitely has my vote
40 CRAIGG // May 17, 2008 at 21:14
Milner was easily the best player for the Sam Allardyce era otherwise known as the first half of the season
41 reillers // May 17, 2008 at 23:13
