Some excellent news for Newcastle fans today and it’s not about any transfer business.

Oba Martins - should be fit for pre-season training
Newcastle were given a fitness boost today with the news that both Obafemi Martins and even Mark Viduk,a could be ready for the start of the season.
Martins became a doubt for pre-season after missing Nigeria’s game against Austria earlier this month, and Oba’s agent claimed at the time that Martins had missed the game because of an ankle injury.
Martins’ agent Chris Nathaniel said:
“He actually had ankle injuries which he managed to play the last matches of his club season with the aid of pain killers.”
“In order not to aggravate the injuries, he had to see a doctor on time and right now he is in Italy for a check-up to determine the extent of the ankle injuries.”
Nigeria manager Shaibu Amodu said at the time:
“Obafemi said he had a scan on his ankle, and the doctors said he’d be out for eight weeks.”
A Newcastle insider has said the injury was blown way out of proportion, and Oba should be OK to start training in early July, with the rest of our squad.
That’s the really good news.
Other potential good news is that Mark Viduka has a chance of making the first game of the season.
Viduka missed Newcastle’s last game of the season at Everton, after struggling with an Achilles injury, so he could have an injection into the Achilles tendon.
The news is that Mark is ready to see the specialist again in early July, but he is still expected to miss most of the pre-season.
How quickly he can return is debatable, but he could be ready for the first game of the season - just maybe.
But Mark is not particularly quick at recovering from his injuries, so we’d be surprised if he was ready to play in that first game.
Comments welcome.

Jermain’t for James
From the Liverpool Daily Post, Thursday:
The Reds have dismissed reports that Jermaine Pennant will be the makeweight in a player plus cash deal for Newcastle’s James Milner.
Newcastle have been in touch with Anfield officials, expressing interest in a couple of the Reds’ fringe players, but the Geordies are not interested in taking Pennant to the north east.
There was no denial however of stories in the national press that Liverpool were interested in signing Milner…

Fit enough to sell then? thats a worry, along with the likes of Given, Milner, Zog maybe and more !!!! When it’s the likes of Smith that should be sold asap!

More old storys being raked up and put out as new. The press will never learn that we supporters do have memories. Rightly so you that have already posted are aware that these are weeks old these latest scoops, headlines, breaking news call them what you want, they are old.
Also look how accurate the press are of late.
They got the Chelsea managers job wrong, but in this mornings papers they all take credit for getting it right.
They got the Blackburn managers job wrong by saying Alan Shearer was interviewed and wanted it.
He, lastnight put an end to that story live on tv, yet they take credit for saying that they all knew he would not be manager.Lies.
So what will come next from the press, MO wants to go to Sunderland. OFM wants to go to Hartlepool. Decco, Ronaldo, and all the other top stars want to join KK and his revolution?
Any one else got any ideas that we can put in front of the media to see if they try to cailm an exclusive.

Tottenham and Middlesbrough interested in Arda Turan!!!!!!!!!!! I FU££ING KNEW IT!!!! We’ve left another top signing pending way too long!! Our board with their stupid waiting games that end up biting them in the ass! I am soooo fed up of this constantly happening. Now we have to wait even more and see if Newcastle can land the wanted player as he already has attracted intrest from our rivals!

if we sell milner for $7 mill as quoted to scousers ,we might aswell consign ourselves to being average forever more.you dont sell good young [none injury prone]players for anything other than ridiculous fees.if we paid $6 for smith and barton ,milner is worth $12.villa want $25m for barry ffs and hes nowt flash

All this transfer shit is making me sick. We never manage to get who we want and when we need it! At the same time Spurs are spending on fabulous players, most of whom we were interested in.
17 broon ale // Jun 12, 2008 at 14:06
where has the news that everton, boro and spurs being interested in arda turan came from?
18 ObaFan2 // Jun 12, 2008 at 14:10
I had though KK had said about haing a decent small squad and adding 2-3 players and no major over-haul needed!
Well I’m surprised at the amount left already, some still need to go imo ( Smith, maybe Barton atleast) with Milner n Given rumours it is looking like major changes are happening.
KK and co. must have some players lined up already or we are in deep trouble.
Atleast KK is here which is the only reason I am remaining calm and sane at the moment.

30. Slowly fed hard water over the course of a few months, then brain removed as a zombie oliver doesnt bear thinking about
31. No, and no i dont
32. jessica biel, but Christina has her merits
33. Aye, why not. Ive done worse in my younger days (and future probably)
34. Yes - Joga Bonita in the lane during the summer. Still have gravel in my knee i think. Around the time of the adverts, so 06 maybe?
35. No. Your born with a team, you stick by it - thats what being a football supporter is about
36. Im guessing your 16… Nope (the key is to pin them down then fart directly in the mouth nose area
37 . No kebabs where i live now, but back in the day i did. The key is to remove the salad, microwave for 2 minutes on medium, then reapply salad. I miss kebabs
No more questions, this press confrence is over

It worries me that we always expect Martins to be fit for us, I couldnt imagine a season without him, i hope we sign another striker with a similar reliability to share the work and pressure.

kebab pizza is good but only if the kebab meat is nice and moist (i hate that word haha)
otherwise its real bad.
if anyone wants to try somewhere for a good kebab try this place in morpeth, its called boulavards- its got a website just look it up on google.
mixed kebab looks good but i always go for the chicken kebab the meat is lovely and tender with a lovely tasting maranade
if ya give it a try let me know what ya thought.
