Aaron Spear Agrees To Join Newcastle

Sky Sports is reporting today that Newcastle United have finally won the race to sign Plymouth teenage star striker Aaron Spear.

Aaron Spear - has agreed to join Newcastle United

Spear is one of the most sought-after youngsters in the country, after giving some impressive displays in Plymouth’s youth teams last season, and quite a few Premier League teams were pursuing the youngster, including Arsenal, Portsmouth and Everton.

Aaron has been called the new Wayne Rooney, and it had seemed that Newcastle had almost tied the deal up a few weeks ago.

But Newcastle have now won the race after Dennis Wise, the Newcastle Executive Director, visited with Aaron and his parents in early June, along with Newcastle scout Lil Fuccillo.

After that meeting Aaron told the Newcastle officials he wanted to join the Tyneside club.

The club then invited Aaron and his mother to Newcastle to look around the place, and check out the facilities, and how Newcastle would be taking care of the boy.

Aaron’s mother, Caroline Spear, has confirmed the highly-rated youngster has agreed to join Newcastle after being impressed by what the club had to offer her son.

Caroline told Sky Sports:

“Aaron has agreed to join Newcastle and now we are waiting on the two clubs to agree a fee.”

“We spent a couple of days up in Newcastle and met with Dennis Wise and we were very impressed by what he had to offer.”

“A number of clubs had expressed an interest in Aaron, but he has decided he wants to go to Newcastle.”

“We are very proud of him and we are excited about his future at Newcastle.”

The deal will be concluded once the two clubs agree a fee for the 15 year-old striker.

This is good work by Dennis Wise, and now we need Dennis to be working closely with Kevin to bring in the older stars, which we’re sure the club will be doing in the near future.

Spear is currently on schoolboy terms, and the rules state the club are entitled to receive a fee, if the youngster moves to another club.

We have tracked the Spear deal for a number of weeks now, and were told by one of his close friends in Plymouth, that he definitely wanted to join Newcastle United, as his first choice.

Looks like that was the real deal.

This is good news for the club.

Comments welcome.

Many apologies if this turns out true haha

  26. mozza Says:

just googled ” asfari footballer” got f all back apart from did you mean safari, this is a wind up

  27. Nasty Says:

Arshavin and co don’t seem to be able to work their magic against the Sombrero’s………….shame!

  28. Dan Says:

    yep i tried asfari nufc
It seems we are all doing wht he wanted
us all to be eager and to browse around and waste our time.
    Cock!

  29. dacvid toon Says:

whos asfari.give us some details on the fella.sounds like crap to me.but great news on spears.lets hope he turns out to be as good if not better than rooney.

  30. ObaFan2 Says:

The first of many GOOD news items (i hope).

  31. Yorkie Dave Says:

who is everyones money on russia or spain??

  32. Dan Says:

    russia!
1964 last time spain won anything
Don’t see anything changing for some reason
they have a good team but i really dislike them

  33. ronaldeano Says:

I have 20 quid on Pavlychenko to score first! I wish he would hurry up, he’s missed a few chances!

  34. mozza Says:

i’d rather russia won spain will choke in the final giving victory to the germans

  35. Dan Says:

Slightly off topic but anyone reckon we’ve signed anybody for first team in secret
    and if so, who??

  36. Dan Says:

I reckon Baf Gomis myself, its all been quiet with him since we ‘tabled’ the 10 mil offer

  37. valle Says:

i doubt any club can keep any tranfers silent these days mate…

  38. ronaldeano Says:

    Van Der Vaart.

    Its certain! ;)

  39. Dan Says:

    true true
i suppose you’ve got to blame agents, and the the press

  40. Nasty Says:

Puyol and Arshavin just had a high five………….think that tells us something - Barca bound!

  41. Dan Says:

as much as i’d love VDV can’t ever see it happening :(

  42. harrier Says:

“Andrei Arshavin has been disappointing so far” maybe not :P

  43. Geordie Nick Says:

why wud we sign anyone and keep it secret IT MAKES NO SENSE, ashley knows fans are gettin frustrated and p*ssed off and he will be the one who they turn on first so why wud he keep signings a secret hence causing fans to turn against him for lack of activity on transfers!!

  44. Dan Says:

    first of all
How exactly does he know fans are getting annoyed unless ppl are harassing him etc
and secondly why wouldn’t he want a deal done in quiet. This way its more likely to ward off interest from other clubs.

  45. Hadji Says:

Ronealdano….I hope you win mate cause if that happens Russia wins 95% and with that i win aswell. But the rain has been a terrible obstacle for them to play their game.

  46. ObaFan2 Says:

I’ve got my fingers crossed that next Tuesday we will have a few new faces @ SJP.

KK has always liked earlier transfers than last minute deals and with the new Chairman (or director w/e they r calling him) in place and MA getting Taylors contract sorted atleast, all will look rosy for the start of the new season.

Forget Ashavin and Arda etc, if they want to go elsewhere then no point in them being half-hearted in black n white wishing they were somewhere else.

KK will make sure all is well for us the fans.

  47. Spyro Says:

geordie nick i have noticed over the last few days that it really annoys you when people speak of secret signings, lol

  48. Dan Says:

So your telling me going to the press and blabing on saying we are gettin such and such will help. What happens if they decline a contract, then your buggared! Like I said going to the press is only going to attract other teams as they will know their availabit and fee etc

  49. Tom_Toon Says:

    Who is Asfari?!?!?

I’ve heard of a player called Safari.

  50. xfer Says:

Arshavin was heading right into Puyol’s ear, guess that tells us something else.

  51. harrier Says:

Geordie Nick - if Ashley came out and said we had 100 mill transfer budget, what would happen? Teams would put their prices up. If we sign a bunch of players, would that not let everyone else know we have a bunch of money to spend? Irregardless, there could be many reasons other than this not to announce deals (like deals that have been done in principle but aren’t certain to go through officialy till the first of july) why announce it when things could still go wrong? Maybe part of the cost cutting is that we can only afford one press conference/unveiling so they half to be done all together? (that last one was a joke) But in either case, we don’t know whats going on cause the only quotes from any of them since May is from Terry Mac, so why do we have to suppose bad things are happening and not good things?

  52. gorskino10 Says:

Good news for us but a weird thing to point out is I’m in Plymouth and quite alot of people support Newcastle so that’s cool, just hope we sign some more kind of quick

  53. gordond Says:

Ronaldeano how do you know Van Der Vaart is a certainty is DMAG your best mate he said it would be big news TODAY.

  54. Dan Says:

    wht would be big news?

  55. Rocky04 Says:

The russian twin at centre back looks very good, a ‘bull’ in pleats words! Alot of you lads ripped Ed for putting him on the list the other week!

  56. Geordie Nick Says:

harrier- wat the f*k u talkin about? wen did i say ashley shud come out and say how much we have!!! learn to read proply

dan- he will know ppl are gettin annoyed cos ppl at th club do actually read things said by fans wether it be in txts in newspapers or on internet, they , they do like to know wat the fans are thinkin u know!!!!
and i never said he wudnt do the deals quietly i said why wud he do a deal then not announce it to the fans after its done i never mentioned doin the deal publicly

  57. The Entertainers Says:

Thats a great deal, over the moon.

    Who is he?

Only joking, these type of player are just the type the academy needs.

  58. Spyro Says:

    pleat talks shit

  59. gordond Says:

DMAG said big news was coming out of SJP about VDV today

  60. tommyy Says:

gordand - chill a sec, i think he was joking.

  61. Hadrian Says:

if we waste over 10 mill on gomis ill lose faith in the toon , no chance in hell is that lad gonna live upto the hype , shocking control .

  62. Dan Says:

    Geordie Nick
I’m not ridiculing wht your saying but
can’t you see tht the most likely outcome of going to the press will hurt us Geordies for incomplete transfers etc. Look at luka for instance, yes i’m glad we made an approach but doing it publicly was were we went wrong. We should have told Zagreb to keep it strictly confidenial but saying tht they would obviously want other clubs to up their price.

  63. Geordie Nick Says:

    dmag talks shit

  64. Yahya Ahmad Says:

Its good to know that we’ve signed a player!

  65. Tom_Toon Says:

Pleat cant even pronounce names properly, proper numpty.

  66. Dan Says:

lol i want dmag to be correct!

  67. Frankieboy Says:

YD put a fiver on Russia to win Euro’s at 40/1 after they got beat off Spain in first group game.
Me pa in law was supposed to put bet on night before but forgot at 33/1
    So far so good.
Not watching game cos missed all of Russia games so far thro work n drink.
    Hoping it’s a good omen.

  68. gordond Says:

I know Tommyy i was reffering to Ronaldeano quote 36

  69. Geordie Nick Says:

dan- im not saying go to the press about transfers or anything lyk that, im just saying tht once a deal for a player is complete the club shud announce it to the fans as i dnt see us gaining anything frm keeping transfers a secret, once the deal is done and dusted, all i can see happening by doin tht is the club are goin to make us fans mor and more frustrated therefore gettin p*ssed off wiv ashley etc and thts not gonna do him any good is it

  70. Nick C Says:

    dmag talks cack. ignore.

  71. Pete Says:

This is a great signing we’ll have a few more like him please Dennis! I don’t reckon we’ve got done deals with agents and clubs it’s pretty hard to keep things quiet but I’ve got a suspicion that bar a couple of details we’ve got things lined up for when the window opens. Keegan’s one of us and I think he’s shown before - if he’s not happy he’s not afraid to tell us. If Kev’s happy i’m happy. On a diff note David Pleat REALLY does ruin good football matches with his constant crap!

  72. Dan Says:

yeh a suppose, as long as it is done and dusted!
No more heartbreak for us like luka mod, rooney, etc etc

  73. Geordie Nick Says:

got 3 quid on both xavi 2-0 and xavi 2-1 both at 100/1

  74. harrier Says:

geordie nick did YOU read MY post? I said that for SIMILAR reasons to not announcing your budget - ie NOT being to held ransom by clubs - you may WANT to keep your signings QUIET until you have finished your business. If a team saw you spending money in the transfer market, does it not look the same as having a big budget? Now that Tottenham has spent 20-23 Million on two players, do you not think their prices have gone up????

  75. Dave Says:

Van der vaart is set to sign tomorrow, trust me.

See? It’s THAT easy to make up a rumour, just face it, DMAG and whoever makes up these bogus rumours find it funny for whatever reason to toy with people’s emotions over the internet. How cool are they?! Not.

Don’t believe any of these rumours unless there is a credible source to it.

And I apologise if I over excited you on my first paragraph!

  76. Rocky04 Says:

Think im missing something here. We havent actually signed Spear. We have yet to agree a fee! So who knows! Wait till hes in the shirt!

  77. Frankieboy Says:

Agree wi Geordie Nick we should do it the Arsenal way.
That said it’s hard to keep deals under wraps and out of the press cos it’s in the agents interest to publicise interested parties to up the bucks of their %.
It’s not all down to the press.

  78. ronaldeano Says:

    @gordond, i was joking mate :)

  79. gordond Says:

No problem Ronaldeano wish he was coming all the same.

  80. ronaldeano Says:

Im not DMAC! He is full of shit, so am i sometimes! But not as bad as him!

Would be nice to get VDV tho! :)

  81. Nick C Says:

Something MINT for you all in these non signing days! The Verve’s new tune….http://www.myspace.com/thevervetv
    Have a slice of that!

  82. Hadrian Says:

friend just called to tell me we have representitives showing someone round saint james atm , didnt get to see who he was my friend said , they were doing there best to stay away from staff .

  83. Frankieboy Says:

Probably showing Duff the visitors changing rooms for future reference
    Hope so

  84. harrier Says:

Hadrian - were camaras and pens and papers involved? What about tops with the words Van der Vaart on them?

  85. Dave Says:

Hadrian, will it not just be Spear?

  86. harrier Says:

Dave - Spear has already seen the facilities at SJP.

  87. Dan Says:

continue the bullshit of a story then

  88. Spyro Says:

i dont care what anyone says, for me, cesc fabregas is the best cm playmaker in the world, regardless of age

he has been amazing for club for years, and is now amazing for country.

  89. ronaldeano Says:

    Guisa, lovely finish

  90. harrier Says:

Dave, Dan - Its probably Arshavin, who has disappeared from this game.

  91. Frankieboy Says:

Could of just been Dennis Wise trying to find his way to his office.
He needs someone to open the doors for him cos he can’t reach the handles.

  92. Dave Says:

Aye harrier, he has gone missing in the game like.

  93. Dan Says:

    haha probs Harrier

  94. Ross Says:

Geordie nick its lookin good for you son. in the money!

  95. ronaldeano Says:

Its an Arshavin lookalike playing the neet!

Wor lass said she seen him in the perfume dept in Fenwicks this afternoon! :)

  96. Dan Says:

if there is any truth in tht, which there probably isn’t. it would be chimbonda
    someone shite like tht

  97. ronaldeano Says:

Il never put a score on Pavlychenko again! :(

  98. Frankieboy Says:

Take it my money down the shiter.
    Whats the score

  99. Dave Says:

Does everyone think that Zhirkov is the double of Keith Murray, singer of We are Scientists?

    http://static.flickr.com/45/114556455_ae3aed1a9d.jpg

  100. Hadrian Says:

this is the first game where arshavin has been considered such a threat by the opposing team(spain) .
they have kept him in check all game and he’s looked average , maybe he’s had to much spce to play with in the games he’s shined in

  101. tommyy Says:

Dave - No not at all.

  102. Ross Says:

it’ll be terry mac they’re showing round. senile old bugger

“now terry here are the changing rooms, you’ve been in here every saturday for the past god knows how many years”

  103. harrier Says:

    there goes geordie nick’s money

  104. Dan Says:

eee you gotta love terry mac
anyone ever been to the training ground, he’s a right character!

  105. ronaldeano Says:

    @Ross, LOL! :)

  106. Ross Says:

    Frankie boy its 3-0 spain.

  107. Dave Says:

Alreet then tommy I’ll piss off then.

  108. Geordie Gerrard7 Says:

gorskino10 were in plymouth are u? im in plymouth, and yeah loads of toon fans

  109. Hadrian Says:

and no dont think it was spear , just got told a senior player being shown round .

means f all to me if you believe it or not dan , don’t care either way , i’m not giving out winning lottery number here . just passing on whats been said to me .

  110. Nick C Says:

Russia are weird. They have been shite twice v Spain. England took them apart, yet at times in this tournament they have been brilliant. Arshavin - The business or Flash in the Pan? Discuss….

  111. Dan Says:

    The business!
I just think his mind will b all over the place with all the transfer rumours etc

  112. tapir Says:

    playin like shit! look scared
does spain ever invade russian before???

  113. Pete Says:

Flash in the pan. Brilliance does not suddenly appear at 27

  114. Ross Says:

Dan- havent been to the training ground in years like, not since i was alot younger.
dont get the chance to come down much cos im in scotland now.
i seem to remember him being quite the joker at a meet n greet?

  115. Hadrian Says:

hmm , post didnt show .

as i said , im not giving out winning lottery numbers here , just what was told to me .
dont give a monkeys either way what you think dan :)

  116. steve Says:

Arshavin looks pants tonight - never seen a player talked about so much before a game play so poorly in it

  117. tommyy Says:

Dave - Zhirkov has a flat face and a small nose, Keith Murray has a big nose and quite a roundish face :P

  118. ChrisBey Says:

Get on i is from plymouth too peeps :D where is ya from ??

  119. tommyy Says:

Agree Arshavin has looked so average tonight i would even class it as poor. Maybe Barca will withdraw their bid after watching the game tonight, who knows?

  120. robertsa Says:

it was in chronicle that we have signed two players. spear and asfari. id ont know who he is either. my mate says he is a centre back. tommorow pick up a chronicle.

  121. Dan Says:

oo a love going to the training ground, due to the fact am still young (teens)
am such a regular viduka and me talk quite a bit
but i vow not to go back till september 1st

  122. Geordie Gerrard7 Says:

well i have gone back to work now, im doing a reinforced conctete bund wall in the chevron plant at cattedown road atm, putting in the steel and the shuttering

  123. Pete Says:

    Not in my chronicle mate

  124. Dan Says:

    hopefully your right tommy
I reckon same will apply with Arda and the other big teams
I don’t give a toss about him anymore

  125. Geordie Nick Says:

i have a chronicle infront of me so where exaclty is this story

  126. Egar Says:

Russia’s outclassed by Spain again. It’s gonna be a great final!

  127. GraemeR Says:

Any one think that Senne would be an excellent buy. He has protected the Spanish back4 succesfully against hte Ruskis and hte Italians. Fantastic tackler and always seems to find his man with a pass.

So its Derdiyok, Moutinho and Senne for me - all realistic I think

  128. Tom_Toon Says:

Moutinho and Senna realistic, you need your head checked mate.

    Senna is 32 aswell.

  129. Geordie Gerrard7 Says:

graeme- not a chance mate, 32 rated at 10 mill and arsenal realy intrested, but agree he is a v. good holding midfield player

  130. ChrisBey Says:

so who waz this close friend then ED??

  131. Geordie Nick Says:

dnt know why evryone on here seemed to think russia wud win, didnt u all see the first game the other week, spain demolished them and at the end of the day arshavin is good but he isnt good enough to change a 4-1 defeat into a victory is he, spain have better players allover the pitch.

  132. Hadrian Says:

what bugs me about the training ground , that field and the one behind it (now overgrown and with a couple of horses in) , in the summer it was always full of kids playing football , there were holes in the fence we all used to crawl thru , and the groundsmen didnt mind really as long as we were not knacking the pitches .
even if there was people or events on the big field(training ground) we all used to pile on the one behind it .
now newcastle have came in and took over , they took away the biggest playing field in the area , there used tobe at least 20-30+ kids on those fields each day in the summers kicking footballs about , and they cant even take over the smaller field and keep it cut for kids to get onto like the old owners used to .

pretty shocking to think there was more kids playing football there when it wasnt owned by our football club .

  133. Dan Says:

i personally think moutinho would be a sod to get, as hes another top shot in portugal

  134. Spyro Says:

bloody hell, cesc fabregas is gotta be worth between 25 to 35million now after proving he can now do the business for country aswell.

best player maker in the world, im all for following in arsenals footsteps if we can find talent like that. bring on the youth!

  135. GraemeR Says:

Why not Moutinho ? Apparently Everton are in the running - we can surely compete with the toffeeeees

  136. harrier Says:

I am voting for flair over efficiency. Spain all the way. As much as I like some of the players on the German team, they do not seem cohesive and to many of their players have gone missing in alot of games, and it seems that Schweinsteiger and Podolski are the only things dragging them through. The spaniards have a midfield on fire and a striker who is top scorer. There defense has let in faaaar fewer goals than the germans. If torres can find form they will be unstoppable.

  137. GraemeR Says:

Take your point if Senne is 32 though

  138. Geordie Gerrard7 Says:

tom toon, y u have to be soo offensive to him saying he needs his head checked??

  139. Spyro Says:

geordie nick, holland also have better players all over the pitch

anyway if you watched the first match between russia and spain you would know that the scoreline was extremely harsh on russia and they hit the woodwork two or three times. Spain were just very clinical that night

  140. Dan Says:

oo i know, we can’t see a damn thing at the training ground now. but my friend won a behind the scenes pass from teh chronicle so we got to go in, tis beautiful!

  141. robertsa Says:

pete checkt the page second from the back if it says nout, my mate was bullshitting

  142. Darryl Says:

Fabregas would of been good prior to joining arsenal anyway.

  143. Geordie Nick Says:

senna is 31 not 32, and looks like i was right and u were wrong tom toon, i told u spain wud b a good team and germany wud b thereabouts at the end and u said portugal wud win it, luks like u dnt know much about footall afterall

  144. Dan Says:

If we continue talking about Moutinho etc, it will soon be another page on this blog, i’ve noticed that a lot on here (no offense Ed) but with players like rat

  145. ehssi Says:

    Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees :)
LOL Arsenal and tottenham, we have the new Rooney :D

  146. GSfan Says:

Russia was plain rubbish. I expected way better =/

Arshavin was piss poor. Zhirkov was rubbish too. I’m glad to see Arshavin fail like that due to his Christiano Ronaldo-like behaviour and not have the slightest loyalty to his club. He played so selfish tonight, as if he wanted to show off to Barça scouts not giving obvious passes and instead trying to shoot from an angle with two defenders on him…

Spain deserved it. Props to them! Fantastic teamwork and the substitutions were spot on! Now I’m scared this guy’s gonna be Fenerbahce’s coach… and he’s takin Güiza with him too.

GraemeR - Senna plays for Villareal. I doubt you guys have the slightest chance on him I’m afraid =/ (ugh late comment :p)

  147. robertsa Says:

why the hell were we going to pay 6million for dirtyok. he aint that good

  148. Tom_Toon Says:

Of course im ging to say portugal were going to win, we were playing really well wen i said it (first game) and they are my team.

  149. ChrisBey Says:

GG7 where in plymouth ya from m8?

  150. Tom_Toon Says:

Hes 32 in a few weeks.

  151. Geordie Nick Says:

spyro, with all du respect, u hav no argument mate, spain comfortably beat russia in the groups, then evryone seems to think tht arshavin make them win, and like i predicted spain comfortably won again, spain are not holland tho r they, teams play better against sum teams than others u know and obviously russia cud play against holland, but up against spain they just dont make the grade

  152. robertsa Says:

if my mate on msn ill get details on asfari

  153. GraemeR Says:

I think Derciyok wiuld be a very good signing - but not for 6 million - 4 perhaps. Hes young quick and scores plenty - remember the goal agaisnt the mighty England?

He fits the current profile of what the club is after - if you believe what is being reported

  154. Geordie Nick Says:

but u still wrote off the germans nd spanish n didnt giv them any chance at all of winnin it, everyone knows never to write off the germans no matter how bad they play cos 9 times out of 10 they will at least get 2 the semis of major tournaments

  155. Geordie Gerrard7 Says:

i would love dani guisa, he looks a v.good striker. im being v. realistic here and this is the team i wouldnt mind seeing us have next year

    Given
    Beye
    Enrique
    Taylor
Collicini/ maybe maybe not! but would also like cuellar
    Lennon
    Mcgeady
    Sidwell
    Owen
    Pavluchencho, not if madrid intrested
    Martins

wouldnt be such a bad team, we should base our selves on a team like villa i think, we need someone like lennon for raw pace, mcgeady, trickery magic, sidwell- quite a neat player good at breaking things up

  156. Spyro Says:

geordie nick what are you on about, anyone who watched the first match between the two would tell you that russia were very unlucky that night and spain were fortunate to get a 4-1 win. you call tom toon a know it all, but you are mate, except you actually know nowt

  157. Geordie Nick Says:

gg7- u wud luv guiza but u dnt even hav him in ur team tht ud lyk to see nxt yr??????

  158. ToonKing Says:

damn, gutted about the result but Spain were great today, hope they don’t choke in the final, as usual, as i simply hate german football.

  159. Geordie Gerrard7 Says:

well i have gone back to work now, im doing a reinforced conctete bund wall in the chevron plant at cattedown road atm, putting in the steel and the shuttering. you know where the chevron plant is? im currently staying in the travel lodge at qauy road as i dont want to travel back and forth to bideford every night.

  160. robertsa Says:

soz guys he not on. havent a clue if asfari is real. check the papers the morer

  161. Geordie Gerrard7 Says:

i dont think we will get hi thats why i dont, he is a good striker, and fairly quick.

  162. Hadrian Says:

you work with concrete and shuttering and your not irish ? dont belive you !!

  163. Pete Says:

There’s nowt in my Chronny Anal Oliver normally goes totally overboard about a potential signing (before he claims we’re not interested the next day) so if there is another signing i’d love some details

  164. Geordie Nick Says:

spyro - wat u on about, i said spain won comfortably, and 4-1 is comfortable, u cant argue with tht, i dnt think i know at all anyway i said i think spain wud go thro as i didnt see russia doin anything against the spanish 2night, and obviously i do know something since i said spain wud go thro and i put £20 on them 2 win the tournament frm the start

  165. Spyro Says:

you put money on spain….wow, so did the bookies who had them second favourites after germany. Hardly mystic meg

  166. Geordie Nick Says:

didnt say i was mystic meg, u said i know nowt, i obiously know more than u since i knew spain wud win and u obviously thought otherwise

  167. Spyro Says:

anyway, it would seem tottenham now have a top class keeper in gomes

  168. Geordie Gerrard7 Says:

gomes is not no where near top class, i have seen him make many of howlers

  169. Andy Says:

i reckon we will get derdiyok and engelaar who have both had great tournaments and can do the business 4 us

  170. Spyro Says:

i agree to an extent about the mistakes GG7, he reminds me a bit of reina, he is a little bit erratic. However, he is a good shot stopper and a definite step up from robinson and cerny

  171. titchytom Says:

I remember going to the training ground at gibside gardens at benwell hill and jackie charlton telling waddle and beardsley that whenever they got the ball just to cross it and if george reilly missed it not to worry cause tony cunningham would get it

  172. gordond Says:

Why we talking about Gomes and Spurs ?

  173. Spyro Says:

dunno gordond, i just rate gomes so i mentioned him

  174. gordond Says:

    fair enough spyro

  175. gorskino10 Says:

  177. GEORDIE GENIUS Says:

gorskino10- YOU SHOULD GO TO AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE COLLEGE - COS THAT WAS A RIGHT LOAD OF GOBBLEDEEGOOK MAN!

  178. Kurt E Says:

Meat Loaf was shown around at St. James Park today so this was probertly the man your friend saw :)

  179. Leo Says:

  183. Oba Says:

Btw, we have signed Arshavin. We had already agreed a deal before the Euro’s. Great news. My uncle works at SJP, and told me today. He didn’t tell me earlier as he was authorised not to. Should be something about it tomorrow in the media, as NUFC are releasing a statement.

    Hooray! Mon Keegan!

  184. Sun'lun's Burnin' Says:

    hahaahhahahhahahahahhahahaahahhaahahaha

ther will be a big queue for fenwicks window if he does!!!!!! lol

  185. ende Says:

Oba, do not tease us please.

  186. Tom_Toon Says:

Id be happy with De Ridder of Brum but Arshavin will do.

  187. Oba Says:

I am actually not. You must trust me, I wouldn’t make up such a thing.

  188. Tom_Toon Says:

    Im holding you to that.

Kaka is signing with him lads :)

  189. tom tomb Says:

No chance of Arshavin Oba and out.

  190. tom tomb Says:

    Ars-havin a Kaka!

  191. cooldj Says:

i want to say nice try oba, but it isn’t…

  192. tom tomb Says:

We are doomed to another season of mediocrity. Who is that good Russian left back—only kidding tom toon.

  193. tom tomb Says:

So thats VDV and Arshavin in champion, no wonder other fans take the piss. We are all doomed.

  194. Ross Says:

    come on oba.
im keegans son and i can tell you now we actually pulled out of the arshavin race when kaka handed in a transfer request claiming he wanted to go newcastle and newcasle only, with a wagecap of 40,000pw in his contract.

  195. Matthew Says:

KK’s close to completing the signing of CC.

Can’t say any more than that.

  196. Tom_Toon Says:

Please no! Not Carlton Cole!!! :(

    :)

  197. Matthew Tom Says:

    Delighted about this news!

When will people stop having a go at NUFC and particularly Dennis Wise? Seems to me his job is all about young talent and so far we’ve got Zamblera, Kadar, Tozer, Baheng, Simonsen and now Spear too. Would anyone have expected six top youngsters within six months of Wise’s appointment?

There is NOWT wrong with what Wise is doing.

As for senior signings, personally I have no issue whatsoever with our club (a) playing down its resources (the suits thing was a masterstroke) and (b) not telling anyone much about who they are after in the FORTHCOMING transfer window (which has NOT even opened yet).

I wonder sometimes what people want. In previous years we’ve made great noises about wads of cash to spend and this player or that player, and usually there’s been a lot less money spent and a lot fewer quality players brought in.

Sorry but someone explain it to me - given that the transfer window hasn’t even opened yet, what exactly is wrong with NUFC’s approach at the moment?

Oh yes I was forgetting, we didn’t sign Arshavin and Arda in January. The club was in turmoil just then, have some faith lads, it will come good with or without these two.

  198. tom tomb Says:

    Charlotte Church!

  199. tom tomb Says:

    Charlie Chaplin

  200. Kaler Says:

Oba tells the truth, my dad built SJP and on his death bed he spoke of a Russian saviour who would sign for us before the euro 2008 tournament, though the club would not announce it because doing so would upset the locals and anger the ancient indian burial ground that lays just below the surface of the pitch at St. James’.

Your full of shite mate, what do you take us for?

Back on topic, happy with Spear, and echo the sentiments in Matthew Toms post, lets wait til after the transfer window actually opens before we lynch MA and DW.

  201. Kaler Says:

  202. ToonWarrior Says:

Fabregas was so impressed with our run at the end of the season that he quietly demanded a transfer to SPJ. He will be £35,000 a week for the next 8 seasons. ‘Cesc, a self-proclaimed “team player”, is willing to take a wage-cut to keep this team together. They’re waiting until the end of Euros to announce.

Also ManU has accepted our £15 million bid for Christiano Ronaldo. We will be sending Alan Smith and Damien Duff there way as well. Expect and announcement Sunday prior to the final.

We may not have European Football this season but methinks that the announcement of those two signings will be enough to influence the likes of Arshavin and Turan.

I told you my Uncle Mike knows what he’s doing!

  203. Piers Says:

Arshavin played well today…..not! Where was he, what happened?

  204. neville brewis Says:

    Must be Carlos Cuellar!

  205. valle Says:

Why on earth do people make up stories like that and post them here, its just sad that you have lie on the internet to get to be a little important…

  206. tom tomb Says:

Matthew tom- as far as I am aware this will be wises 1st signing. The rest were supposed to be already in the bag before he got the job. Fair play to what you say though. I think people can’t grasp what he is supposed to be doing! It is not 1st team related, but he is always going to carry the can in some supporters eyes.

  207. cg Says:

    Great!

Just have to look forward to next-next-next-next season then! ;)

  208. Oba Says:

My uncle clearly got confused. He meant we will be signing Arshabin, a young lad from Northern Botswana. Don’t worry, I have pummeled him into the dirt, I got my hopes up also.

Pretty sure that the Kaka rumour is true. My great grandfather’s nephew saw him at Greggs buying a sandwich.

  209. HeronMag Says:

    Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

    A signing!!!

  210. Ian Says:

Good signing, let us hope that the first team signings are of the same quality.

This is still small spending, a junior and a cheap defenders contract about to be sorted, let us wait and see which first team player is signed and how quickly, if a decent player is signed first week of the window then I will relax a bit more as that would show good planning and hard work behind the scenes.

  211. Ian Says:

Oba, well looks like he may fit in with the new Newcastle regime as he went for a budget sandwich rather than paying for a Subway or fancy delhi!

  212. Oba Says:

That’s right Ian. Never heard of him though, is he Brazilian?

  213. 51times Says:

Kaler - SJP is built on the place where we used to hang people in Newcastle, so no need to include an Indian burial ground in your story >_>

  214. BrettToon Says:

When does the transfer window open??

  215. Howla Says:

Pleased with this signing, even more so that we beat arsenal to the signing.

I read a comment further up about us not saying how much transfer funds we have. Maybe Ashley is trying to keep his funds a secret to keep prices low. So if he let the press know that he was looking to cut costs, it appears we are running low on money. Clubs are less likely to hike their players prices up when Newcastle come in.

  216. Micky Toon Says:

So now that Arshavin is officially shite, anyone else reckon we’ll sign him?

  217. scottish mag Says:

right do u guys not think BARCELONA were just trying to unsettle ARSHAVIN.

think about BARCELONA are SPANISH, RUSSIA were playing SPAIN, SPAIN have been these massive underachivers and seen that ARSHAVIN was the main threat to them getting into the FINAL, so by saying they were interested BARCELONA unsettled ARSHAVIN, pulling out of the running today and leaving him to sign for NEWCASTLE

  218. DURhamTOON Says:

Does anyone think on that pic he looks like Rooney but with long hair… Just a bit tho! Reely happy lets see a few more nowwww please!!!!

  219. BrettToon Says:

When does the transfer window open?

  220. Ian Says:

opens tuesday closes end of August.

    Why you panicking too????

  221. Ian Says:

    Oba

Kaka, yes some sort of Brazilian pretender I would say!!!

  222. leavy Says:

i think we should sign more established players as are current crop are shit
we sell players without having replacements lined up ex emre dyer parker havent been replaced

  223. tom tomb Says:

    Oba you are a prick.
