Paul Huntington Sold to Leeds United

August 31st, 2007 · 365 Comments

Newcastle United central defender Paul Huntington has joined Leeds United for an undisclosed fee. That’s the surprising news this evening.

Paul has not been sent out on loan but has left the club. This is breaking news from the official Leeds United web site so we feel it has to be official.

No confirmation yet on the official Newcastle United site, although we expect all Newcastle’s transfer dealings today to be released in a single communication from the club later tonight.

Paul Huntington - surprisingly sold to Leeds United

19 year-old Carlisle-born Paul Huntington, who turns 20 in September played 11 times for Newcastle United and scored one goal. Paul, who won the Jackie Milburn Trophy in the summer of 2005, an award given to the most promising young players in the north east, made his Newcastle debut last season and scored his only goal for the club against Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Highly-rated Paul started out with Newcastle United’s Academy - he joined up with the first team squad for their EUFA cup matches in 2005 - and has represented England at under-18 level.

This was completely unexpected since Paul seemed to have a future on Tyne-side, and we were assuming he would be sent out on loan this season. Leeds are also struggling at the moment so even the club he has moved to is not in the best of shape. Leeds are  bottom of League One with -6 points.

This seems extremely strange to us and we can only assume that Big Sam didn’t rate young Huntington.

We are also waiting for confirmation from Newcastle on the transfers that may have been completed tonight - no news yet and under 4 hours to go to the transfer deadline.

Comments welcome.

    Strange.

  • 2 Andreas // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:14

    …no confirmation on nufc.co.uk.

  • 3 Chris // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:14

I thought he might have went on loan, but for an undisclosed fee is quite surprising

  • 4 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:16

He was not good enough anyway so who cares!!! be honest he was and will never be good enough. When i see a young player i know who has a chance to make it and who does not for example the first time i saw Taylor and N’Zogbia play for newcastle i knew they were good enough. Pattison,Ramage,Edgar are all not good enough and i expect all them to be gone by the start of next season also but are usefull in an in an injury crises however i do see potential in Andy Carroll.

  • 5 Obafan // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:18

I think this is a good decision by Huntington, because he can get the chance to learn more about the game and gain experience. Just a bit shame that it isn’t Ramage who is sold, cause he can go to every club IMO.
Pehaps a loan move would have been a better option, so a more experienced Huntington could return to St. James, but BS should have seen that Huntington is just not good enough to play in the EPL and that’s the reason why they sold him IMO.

What about Beye; has he signed yet, cause the official site hasn’t confirmed it at the moment, but I’ve seen a story (via Newsnow) that he signed for +/- £2.7m? Anybody news on this?

  • 6 Alex // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:28

The lad should have gone out on loan not sold.He was rushed into the first team because of injuries, at a time when we had lost are way.Roeder expected to much to soon from an inexperienced youngster.

  • 7 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:29

Shaun Dean ur no scout, no one takes you seriously, shut up lol

  • 8 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:31

When is Beye going to SIGN!!!!!! i wish/hope we go in for Diop.

  • 9 James // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:32

he is a good prospect for the future hopefully we havent sold him and he is just getting experince with leeds.

  • 10 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:33

dragoner if you seriosly thought Huntington had potential to be a premiership caliber player you no nothing about football in my opinion.

  • 11 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:34

like i said, shut up, your no scout, ur NOBODY lol

  • 12 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:34

Huntington is shite always has been always will be

  • 13 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:35

Good riddance to to shite players. BIG SAM knows talent and obviously Huntington had none LOL………..and thats a fact.

  • 14 Ed Harrison // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:36

I’m shocked we let him go so young - why not a season loan and see how he developed?

  • 15 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:37

dragoner im a nobody…………………..so ur point is? Who r u? i am not allowed to have an opinion?

  • 16 ChrisL // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:37

I would hope that some kind of pre-agreed buy back price has been agreed, should he go on to be a success.

  • 17 DC // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:38

I think its best for both the club and the player.

He wasnt going to get a game for the first team at all this season because of the strength of our squad this season compared to last and i didnt really rate him when he played.

    Good luck to him!

  • 18 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:38

i am someone who is NOT pretending to be a scout

  • 19 Zebra // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:40

Leeds fan here, but been to SJP many times to support your lot and big fan of your club. Hope PH does well for us obviously but feels a bit odd to be gettinga Toon player - normally the other way round! Good luck this season

  • 20 Mick Gray // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:40

Hmm……we might just regret this one in years to come.

I was on the 7am train from Newcastle to London today - and Sam got on at Durham and got off at Kings Cross. Wonder where he was going?

  • 21 Edd Case // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:42

Shaun and Dragoner - keep it on topic lads.

I think it’s an odd deal too, but it’s happened, so lets move on and hope we have some official transfer news soon.

  • 22 RAVATOONIAC // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:42

u can see in his game he’s got a bit of arogance which i like from a youngster when he played last year he wasn’t afraid to play his own game or of any of the big name players he came up against, he’s got bags of potential, i wish him well if he has gone for good we may regret leaving him go one day as i believe with the right coaching he could be a cracking player.

  • 23 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:42

Im not PRETENDING to be a scout i was simply judging a players ability from what i have saw of him from my own personal opinion and that was that he was not good enough to play Premier Leauge football although he was young and still could of improved i still dont think he would of progressed into a player good enough to play for Newcastle United HENCE why he is now playing Leauge 1 football.

  • 24 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:42

Paul Huntington had good NATURAL ability, he was a brave tackler, Tall, had good speed, and was relatively strong for a young defender… People on here judging him by his premiership appearances, lets not forget this is a guy who was thrown in at the deep end due to our serious injury problems, with the right coach and experience he could have and probably will develope into a decent defender…ramage or edgar should have gone instead

  • 25 gordon // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:43

All this rubbish spouted by mr roeder about how good the academy is ,is falling down like a lead balloon, huntingdon was just another average player.

  • 26 Robert H // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:44

Shaun Dean. Obviously your outlook on players and football is very bleak. How do you know Paul wont peak in 5 or 6 years? Hes still young and his stats show he has potential.Maybe its a case of spitting your dummy out because he hasnt been kept by Newcastle.

  • 27 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:45

shaun dean that is fair enough, its just that your first few messages painteda very ’smart ass’ picture of yourself, you are right it is your opinion, and i agree with you concerning pattison, edgar and ramage

  • 28 Robert H // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:46

Oh and besides Shaun you call him shite!!! SO what do you actually make of your striker partnership Smith and Viduka who actually played a big part in helping leeds get relegated.Viduka likes the pies too much…And you call Huntington shite!!!

  • 29 Alex // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:49

The lad never had a chance to prove himself properly .A youngster breaking into the first team needs class defenders next to him to guide him.He had the likes of Bramble and Moore. The lad was playing next to crap defenders and often out of position.

  • 30 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:50

Robert H. Some how i very much doubt that in 5 - 6 six years i will eat humble pie. My knowledge on players is far superior to yours. If you want to see some good young prospects then take a look at Liverpools or Arsenals resevers/youth teams and yes i know they are mostly foreigners however if not theres then look at what Spurs have. Our youth Academy players over the years have not been good enough.

  • 31 Robert H // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:51

I think he will be a good assett to Leeds.I dont know anything about him but ive just looked on a Newcastle forum site and most of the people on their were surprised that hes been sold rather than been sent out on loan.

  • 32 AlexW // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:52

its been confirmed in nufc website, so so long paul good luck m8

  • 33 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:53

Robert H. When and i mean WHEN!!!!! did i ever have a strike partenership of Smith and Viduka that is just down right stupid i have never stated such a thing. You have probably mistaken me for another shaun on this site if not then please explain.

  • 34 Mick Gray // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:55

At the end of the day, Allardyce and Pearson are both experienced ex-defenders - and have made the decision, we have to back their judgement - and lets not forget the defenders who have come/are coming will drastically reduce Paul’s chances. Good luck and thanks mate!

  • 35 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 20:56

Robert H are you trying to say that alan smith and viduka aren’t top class strikers? that would be ridiculous and you know it.

i know first hand that Arsenal probably have the best youngsters as i live in london and my girlfriend is an avid AFC supporter, Gavin hoyte is sick and better than Justin, along with Traore, Merida, Bendtner, Vela, Gibbs(or something), and walcott all being gauranteed stars

  • 36 Robert H // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:00

Shaun,How can you say that your knowledge on players is far more superior to mine. You dont know me.Im not here to pick an argument,I was just surprised that you really had something bad to say about him when he clearly still has time to peak and maybe be a good player.Newcastle have tightened up their defence this season and its a pity that he hasnt been sent out on loan rather than sold, but theres obviously reasons for that but to say that he was “shite and good riddance” is a bit much.

  • 37 Graham // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:01

Shaun Dean - Exactly what do get off on? Maybe Paul Huntingdon isnt good enough for NUFC or indeed the premier league, but what gives you the experience to say shite and always will be when he’s never played consistently at senior level? I truly hope that the kid excells at leeds, moves on to a higher placed club and plays a belter agains us in either league or cup competitions inthe future just so you the garbage you have spouted tonight can choke your vile and negative mind.

I am so pleased that people like you are the minority of mainly deccent and civil members of our community.

May i ask you this - were you a fan of kevin keegan? i will keep an eye out for your response…

  • 38 Robert H // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:04

All im saying is Viduka is past it.Smith still has a few years but Viduka is fat, slow and lazy and wont run for the ball.He likes the ball to come to him.Watch him this season and you will see.His glory days are over and if Newcastle are pushing for Europe then im sure there mustve been a better option than him

  • 39 Nathan // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:06

    Absolutely gutted about this

he looked like he was going to mature into a really good player

WE NEED YOUTH at the club

  • 40 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:06

lets remember that we got him for free, i wouldnt say he is passed it, he still holds valuable qualities like the ability to hold the ball like an attacking midfielder, clinical finishing, and unselfish play….he is also a big name and APPARENTLY a big character

  • 41 Murvar // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:07

I don’t come on here to read inane bickering between correspondents, so please stop indulging yourselves and leave your opinions without unnecessary insults to players or other writers. Huntington is a young player who wouldn’t have been with a Premier League side without a lot of experienced eyes seeing potential in him. He was often played out of position and didn’t have a chance to shine. He could have made it in another era/under another regime maybe. But I can only imagine that BSA had concluded that there was something in his fitness/medical make up (revealed by those heart monitors) that suggested he wouldn’t last the course or wasn’t prepared to work hard enough. Just a thought.

  • 42 Robert H // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:10

Well maybe Sam will bring the best out of him,who knows. He was a big scorer but age has crept up on him and has slowed down but for a freebee than fair play. The only reason why im bringing Viduka up is because im comparing him to huntington whos 19 and part of your youth and hes been labeled shite!! Cant understand it myself.

  • 43 Rich // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:11

Robert H…. i dont know if you noticed but we didnt sign Viduka for his pace we signed him for his ability to hold up the ball and to score goals like he did against the smoggies.

i think Viduka was a great signing for us and so does Big Sam whos opinion is obviously the most important and educated one.

Anyway, you reckon Huntington might peak in 4-5 years, and you say Viduka and Smith are rubbish but Big Sam is the one with all the experience and knowledge on this and he would obviously disagree with you.

or are you stupid enough to say you know better than Big Sam?

  • 44 Graham // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:12

Robert H - was Shearer not past it and waiting for the ball to come to him in his last 2 years? give viduka the ball and he has far more skill to get a shot in at goal than shearer ever had…

  • 45 Tripp // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:12

This is really a reflection of where the EPL is going, not necessarily PH. The amount of money being thrown around and the talent coming in is increasing rapidly. My impression of PH is that he’s ability isn’t going to keep pace with the rate of change of the league. It’s good for NUFC to let ‘em go now and it’s good from him to get to somewhere where he can make more consistent contributions. Too bad it’s Leeds. If anything in this world is shite, it’s Leeds United.

  • 46 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:13

Robert H. My knowledge is superior to yours (only jokin i simply said it to set you off) yes he still could have developed into a good player but i simply did not ever think he would from my time watching him play for the reserves at kingston park and his games in the first team in which fair enough he was played out of position and when i say he is shite (in my opinion) and good riddance i acctually mean it also however thats not to say i dont wish him luck in the future and its not to say that he could prove me wrong but some how i very much doubt he will.

Graham. From what i have read you seem like you are going to cry, your insult was pethetic…is that the best you got LOL and yes i am a KK fan.

  • 47 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:14

Robert H - was Shearer not past it and waiting for the ball to come to him in his last 2 years? give viduka the ball and he has far more skill to get a shot in at goal than shearer ever had

do you know what supporters you are talking to?…did you jus critisize Alan Shearer :o

  • 48 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:16

thta msg was to Graham by the way

  • 49 Graham // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:18

so you are a Keegan fan? may i quote yourself?

“Our youth Academy players over the years have not been good enough.”

Was it not Sir Kevin of Keegan who got rid of the reserve team and any hope of a youth academy during his time at NUFC?

As for crying - no - i just feel pity for people such as yourself

  • 50 Graham // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:24

Dragoner - yes i know. Yes sheare was a fantastic footballer in his day - yes i am a mad newcastle supporter (got home and away shirts from 1982 onwards) but i am honest enough to say what i feel.

Shearer has legend status in newcastle and thats fine - but he was knackered in his final year at nufc - maybe he was playing in a poor team and he did not have a possitive impact on the field or indeed in the dressing room.

I could go on about this for ages but will propb get slated so will stop here…

  • 51 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:25

Graham may GOD have mercy on your soul for christ sakes get a life mate dont take it so seriously. Well let me rephase what i stated earlier i was/am a fan of KK as manager of Newcastle United and what he accomplished with us however i am not a fan of his decision to get rid of the academy which he probably did when i was 4 years old or if he done it at the end of his maergerial career 8 years old im so very sorry i did not take much notice or interest of KK getting rid of the youth acadmy when i was 4-8 years of age.

  • 52 mac // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:26

Tick Tock Tick Tock Ok i’ll admit i’m startin to get worried now. I hope Beye has signed and we haven’t stumbled upon any last minute obsticles. Come on Sam where’s the announcement

  • 53 Robert H // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:26

Im not saying I know better than Big sam at all but a lot of the Newcastle fans think it was a big mistake letting Paul go.look on your forum website if you dont believe me then look on the Leeds forums on opinions of Viduka.Seems to me that Paul may be a bigger loss than what you think

  • 54 Lenny NUFC // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:29

I rated Paul H and A few more reserve games and a couple of first team appearences wouldve helped him.Hope Sam is getting transfers in.Not long left.

  • 55 Graham // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:34

So what exactly did KK accomplish as manager? 2nd place and fantastic football… not really an achievement is it - being the first loser in the pack.

Anyway if you were just 4 or so its probably time you turned your computer off now and took your calpol in time for bed

  • 58 apan // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:38

well goodluck to him, i hope that we put a buy back clause so that if his improving and becomes some what a good lad we can buy him back or perhaps if theres non, add a percentage of sale for our profit lol

dont worry we still have EDGAR!

  • 59 Rich // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:39

i have full faith in Big Sam, selling Paul Huntington is a wise move in my opinion because it was a decision made by the man who seems to be able to work magic.

from wahat ive seen i dont think Paul has what it takes to cut it in the premier league, ill be suprised if you see him back here.

  • 60 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:44

Graham i am 18 years old, have you got a problem with my age? do you acctually think your funny? I suppose your more of a fan of Daglish and Guillt? Speaking of age how old are you? Im guessing your well past your prime and probs have a beer belly i would like to say more but the things i would usually say are not appropriate. Do you think simply for the fact that i am 18 years old i have a limited knowledge of football are something?

  • 61 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:46

    Rich. I agree

  • 62 Obafan // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:49

Think it is a clever move by BS to sell Paul, he also is honnest to the lad. Seems by selling him that BS doens’t see him as a EPL defender otherwise he would have loaned him out. He sees potential in Caroll so he loans out, not the case for Huntigton though. Best of luck to Paul.

What is the situation on Beye and Faye? I’m waiting hours to see the confirmation of at least 1 of the 2 who have signed, but nothing yet? Anybody news on this topic?

  • 63 Darren // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:49

I’d rate Huntington ahead of Ramage & Edgar, when he played CB he looked a good prospect but he was played out of position most of the time. And all these people on here saying he was no good are the same people who are shouting each week to see if the Toon match is on the internet. Don’t make assumptions on 10 minutes of MOTD highlights or a dodgy stuttering stream!

  • 64 the real zebra // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:51

the reason I come on to this website is because there is little biccering like other forums and the content is good. Dont spoil this fans. Stick together, I am disappointed about hintington, i hope edgar does not go the same way.

  • 65 Darren // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:53

Mr Bean - “Do you think simply for the fact that i am 18 years old i have a limited knowledge of football are something?”

    OF COURSE YOU DO!

You are a child of the all seater era for a start so you know eff all about football, you maybe up to date on corporate soccer as it has been for the last 12-15 years but that is about it.

  • 66 Obafan // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:54

Shaun and Graham come on guys stop this stupid discusions. We all are fans of Newcatle and all have our own ideas and favourites. Everybody has his own idea about coaches and players even if they are fans of the same team, that is normal, that is why this blog is fantastic because you can make statements and give your opinion about NUFC and listen to the ideas of others. But don’t attack eachother and don’t start about ages please, cause that doens’t matter at all.

  • 68 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:54

Darren i disagree for one i dont watch match of the day an two i went to newcastle reserve team matches fairly often last season.

  • 69 Bill F // Aug 31, 2007 at 21:56

ToonKing thank god for Pompey, I’d have rather kept PH than sign him. As for PH you just never know how a player will develope, at one stage John Terry never looked good enough for the EPL. Talent is often hard work, luck and attitude. We have had players who looked as if they would be world beaters and went nowhere, anyone remember Suddick? Theres nowt wrong in stating an opinion, its what make the site interesting.

  • 70 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:00

Darren. Fair enough thats not to say that i dont know what im taking about which is what Graham seemed to say. I am in my opinion a very knowlegable fan on Modern day football ……..is that better for you Darren.

  • 71 Darren // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:00

This blog is turning into a BSA arse licking session.

Yes I rate him as a manager and I’ll back him all the way but some comments on here are getting stupid, its like school playtime.

People are allowed opinions that may differ with Big Sam, however if that is mentioned people on here are up in arms. If BSA resigned Marcelinho 90% of you would be saying “he’s the man to get his potential out”!

  • 72 TOON1 // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:01

Fairly surprised about hunti ,thought it would have been a loan deal, but come on guys ,you really think big sam would let a defender go if he hadnt got 1or 2 signed ,like ed says i think it will just be 1 anouncement toward the end of the night .Come on sam ,faye beye and maybe a surprise !!!!!

  • 80 Lenny NUFC // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:16

“Shearer 4pm” In response to your comment,Paul Huntington HAS to be shite though because Shaun Dean said so and according to him he knows lots about football and spotting youth.
No seriously its good to get a more adult response than some of the responses weve been getting from someone im not gonna mention SHAUN!!!
Oh well, hope Paul Huntington does well for himself and will probably get guarenteed first games.

wat do i put in website???

  • 85 ashamed2beatoonfan // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:25

I’m ashamed to be a Newcastle fan reading some of these comments tonight. Shaun Dean has to be the worst, Paul Huntington wasn’t good enough so ‘who cares’! Paul was a young lad not much older than yourself Shaun, who hoped to be a premiership footballer and who gave it everything he had for Newcastle. The fact he didn’t quite make it takes nothing away from the lad. If that is what we’re going to say about lads who give their all and don’t quite make it then we don’t deserve to have them come to the toon in the first place. Better that they go to a team with fans who care. So Shaun, how good are you at what you do? Are you a premiership material? Are you a top notch plumber, brickie, taxi driver, should we care???
Before I finish, anyone who can criticise Kevin Keegan after all he did for the club! You obviously aren’t old enough to remember life before he arrived. Who cares about the academy? He did what he thought was right in taking Newcastle from nowhere to within a whisker of winning the premiership. Did he do things that we might have done differently, certainly! Does he deserve you lot, certainly not!!

Like I said in an earlier post - Sam got on the London train at Durham this morning - got off at Kings Cross. Didnt have time to follow him as I had a meeting to go to!

  • 87 Darren // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:27

How the Faye deal is taking so long is beyond me - unless it is Bolton playing hardball. 90 MINS TO GO - STAY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!

  • 88 Jeff D // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:31

I hope that he has another signing ongoing, and will anounce them all in one go.

  • 89 mac // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:35

  • 90 Ed Harrison // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:35

Now I can reveal what’s really going on; it’s like buying a house - we’re in a chain. Morecambe want Blackpool’s Andy Morrell, and Blackpool will then sell Keigan Parker to Pompey who will then sell David Nugent to Wigan who will sell us……………… Titus Bramble.

    Ayethangyao!

try newcastle newsnow before the official site. You will find any news will appear quicker. Its updated every 2-5 minutes

  • 106 Darren // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:56

Last year the official site was first with the super signings - Sibi (who done okay actually) and Bernard. I ran out of beer I was so depressed. This year I vowed to go out but when news of Beye & Feye wasn’t through by 8pm I just got a crate in. Got two tellys on the go - one skysportsnews, one Fifa 2007 (fiver a man - winner takes all) and the laptop. Still time for clubbing if they push it through in the next 30 mins!

  • 107 Ed Harrison // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:58

Look on the positive side - only maximum of 60 minutes to go …

  • 108 Toon Chicken // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:59

Everyone chill out. Sammy Lee said about 3 days ago that he expected Faye to sign for us, and we already know he’s had a medical. Yes, he is waiting for a work permit, but that doesn’t stop him signing on the dotted line.
Marseilles President said Beye would be joining us , and the man himself said he’s accepted terms for a 4 year contract.
Basically, everyone at SJP has gone home to bed now, just because we don’t hold a press conference doesn’t mean they haven’t signed. Enrique signed a couple of days before he was unveiled to the fans and media.
Go to bed, wake up in the morning, rejoice in our 2 new excellent signings and wish for 3 well-earned points from Bumble and Co.

  • 109 TOON1 // Aug 31, 2007 at 22:59

skysports reporting solano in london waiting to sign for west ham,he waiting for newcastle to sign faye and beye!!!!

  • 110 Darren // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:00

Mick - if you were standing under a leazes roof in the 70’s you might be able to adopt the twins thats about it.

  • 111 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:00

Mick Gray i dont think i know it all so what are you on about? i simply have stated my opinion so what difference does age make what if i said i was 40 years old would you reply differently i think you would.

Lenny NUFC why are you so bothered about one persons opinion on Huntington, i do think i know alot about football so have you got a problem with that? and regarding spotting youth i think its quite easy to spot if a player is going to make it once you have seem them play quite often i based my assumptions on what i saw and the FACT is Sam allerdyce also thought huntington was not good enough and the fact he will be playing leauge 1 football says it all. If you want more Adult responses then stop responding to a ‘child’ in fact actually please tell me how i have been childish as all i have said is that i dont rate huntington by saying he is shite. If i did not metion my age you would not have even used it as a way of argueing/debating with me so why do you hold it against me.

  • 112 AlexW // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:01

an hour left……………..if ne1 lives near st james park, do dey fancy goin around and make sure dat der all awake :D:P

    Here we go again:)

  • 114 Darren // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:05

Arsenal rumoured to be talking to Barzagli, a name mentioned on here a million times (BBC)

  • 115 Ed Harrison // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:06

Lads - let’s keep the discussion on the football and let’s not get personal with each other. Let’s keep the comments on Newcastle - hey - that’s the most important thing in any case.

  • 116 Ed Harrison // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:07

Darren - I saw that - center back of Parma - it’s a rumor though.

  • 117 Jeff D // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:08

Shaun dean shut up your starting to bore people now!

  • 118 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:10

I dont CARE about Huntington and i dont seem to see why you people are so upset about one persons opinion. Why people are getting ito such a fuss about Huntington is beyond me fair enough you may of thought he had potential but i did not for God sakes he is gone get over it.

  • 119 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:10

    Jeff D make me

  • 120 Mick Gray // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:12

    Calm down Shaun
All I was saying is u might think you are superbly knowledgeable now but it gets better as you get older.
If you don’t believe me - tell me what you know about Ivor Allchurch, Frankie Brennan, John McGrath, Kohn McNamee, Jimmy Smith, Jimmt Iley, Joe Harvey, Wyn Davies, Benny Arentoft etc etc etc

  • 121 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:12

you lot r crazy, still arguin over huntington, dont u realise we stil heard nothin…wot is goin on, im startin to worry a bit now

ashamed2beatoonfan i say to you get a life

  • 123 AlexW // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:14

shaun dean, listen m8, people arnt bothered about losing huntington to an extent, people are just confused it was a str8 sail, and for the past couple of hour u just seem to be bitching, end of day, i think your the only person in about an hour to actually comment on huntington so just give it a break

  • 124 Ed Harrison // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:14

Maybe Sam’s having a little joke on us?

  • 125 TOON1 // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:14

Dragoner -so am i ,taking the p”$s now ,im knackered!!!

  • 126 Darren // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:15

Right if you think about these two deals, a couple of points…

After the smog game BSA was bemoaning getting injuries to his weakest position eg-defence. We sold Huntington at what… 7pm, surely he wouldn’t have been sacrificed if we didn’t have at least one deal sorted.

Faye & Beye - yes they are both Senegalese but Beye has been playing in France for a while, has he a EU passport or do we definately need a work permit.? Same goes for Faye too, anybody know?

  • 127 Shaun Dean // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:15

Mick Gray well im related to Joe Harvey he was my Gradads Uncle.

  • 128 dragoner // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:15

the funny thing is, skysports news dont seem to be mentioning us either, its like we dont exist

  • 129 Ed Harrison // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:17

Darren - excellent point - that’s what my son and I just discussed - he wouldn’t have let Paul go if he didn’t have at least one of Faye or Beye already tied up.

  • 130 Jeff D // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:17

shaun dean If i could make you. i’d use wet cardboard and shit for brains.

  • 131 AlexW // Aug 31, 2007 at 23:17

i think its going to get to 23.55 and it will be announced, hopefully with an extra player……….or maybe we wnt sign ne1
