The News of the World today reports that Sam Allardyce looking at two players in the French league. Center-back Claudio Cacapa, 31, is available on a free transfer from champions Lyon, and Jean-Sebastien Jaures would cost the Magpies around £700k from Auxerre. There have also been several reports that Newcastle are linked with a move for Turkish winger Gokdeniz Karadeniz. Sam has supposedly talked to Emre about the 27-year-old who is valued at around £1m.
Sam Allardyce
Well – do we really have all the money for these three 😀
They would cost £1.7M – and if you add in Viduka, Boateng and Ben Haim – there’s six players for less than £3M.
Looks like he doesn’t need – or wouldn’t know what to do with £45M – but the goal for next season is to get some good sound players in – particularly at the back and stop the leaking of goals. If Sam is really after all these players that are being reported he must not be sleeping at nights. Our view is we are all for Sam bringing in these players – the £45M can be spent on a couple of world class stars that we can go after at some point – particularly if we sell Owen. Until Ashley comes in – we cannot expect Big Sam to do anything much different to what his plans have been up to this point.
Here’s some information on these players – in case Sam does in fact sign some of these players.
Gökdeniz Karadeniz (born January 1980) plays for Trabzonspor and is an extremely talented footballer and member of the Turkish National team for whom he has played 32 times scoring 5 goals. He made his debut for Trabsonspor in 1999. He plays for both club and country as an attacking midfield player and is one of the most recognized faces in Turkish football.
Jean-Sebastien Jaures is French, born in September, 1977 and has played for AJ Auxerre since 1996 in the French Ligue. He has made 233 appearances for them and scored 4 goals over the last nine years.
Claudio Cacapa is a Brazilian center-back who has played 122 times for
“I am a
Lyon man now, it’s my town. When I arrived here I was called Claudio but now they call me Claude. “I don’t know where I am going now but I have a few irons in the fire. I am a sensitive man but I am going to try not to cry.”

Comment #1well i think theyl all be descent signings,if we get the 6 players mentioned above and joey barton comes in (that sky sports have just confirmed for 5.5mil hes signing monday if parker agrees hammers move) that will be 7 players for 8.5 mil.more or less a straight swap for parker!! i think these will be great squad players and expect allardyce to then move for 2 or 3 big players when the takeover is resolved

Comment #2It just shows what sort of club we have become if we are rooting round for other teams cast offs. Lets face it, if they are any good they wouldnt be swapping hands for peanuts (in football terms).
Unless, like Ben Haim, these are good players who have run their contracts down rather than been surplus to requirements then fair do’s but I would prefer to see us moving for world class defenders such as the Italian world cup winners Barzagli and Grosso or Ajax’s Heitinga.
But as the case most probably is these sort of players are simply not interested in moving to Newcastle United.

Comment #3its the players a manger picks up for nothing or very little that lets you see how their jusgement is.
gavilan ? bernard ?moore ? to name a few. t
the squad players are what will determine our bench and suspensions and injuries and allow the manager to not have to rely on kids all the time. spending 45m will be easy picking up these players requires nous.
Can anyone else add to my list of poor free or lowcost buys ( less than 2m although that is alot in mackem money)

Comment #4i think what sam is doing is totally right for the club i can easily see us playing with a full team of quallity players rather than mostly usless with a few superstars. sams got the balls to turn the club upside down and to empty out any problems. As for Gökdeniz Karadeniz ive done some research and if what ive read is true he is quallity. Hes is an emmensly versatile player who can play comfortably in any position appart from goal even at top level. his main 2 positions are attacking defender but mainly attacking midfield recently he achieved 13 league goals. trabzonspor fans have much respect for this player. he is also regarded as the greatest crosser of the ball for turkey in recent years. apparently hes fast and entertaining to watch so i hope he can cut it in the premiership. in turkey he had weaker players to back him up support him and play to, however he was playing much less tallented players so were gonna wait and see if hes going to cut it.

Comment #8if were making a 3m profit from the parker barton thing (8.5 m-5.5m), then in effect we could get viduka and cacapa and karadeniz and jaures and boateng and ben haim for nothin!!

Comment #9where all at it again give the blokes a chance so what if there just squad players the way our injuries go they will play most of the seasons its fans like u that do my head in if your son came home and said he got a B in his exam u would want a A if u decided to encourage OUR team for once instead of dragging it down we might actually get somewhere and to be honest if signing these type of players annoys u so much go and support someone else cos if i find myself next to u on the terraces ud get a good whack if u want to see superstars go support united or Chelsea Newcastle comes from the heart not the signing please please remember that

Comment #10i don’t get the moaning about signing players on the cheap. we NEED squad depth, we NEED a larger pool of players to pick from and have done for the last 3 or 4 seasons!
it’s all well and good to say “oh why isn’t he spending loads of money?”, but Mike Ashley doesn’t own us outright yet, so we can’t spend any money he wants to allocate in the future. I’ll be the first to admit i don;t know much about any of these players mentioned, but allardyce is reknowned for his indepth scouting of players, so they must have something about them.
Frankly, it’s getting to the point where i’m getting sick of some of our so called “supporters” who do nothing but bitch and moan. Get behind the team you claim to support for a change. If there’s an air of negativity in the stands, it transmits to the pitch, as we have seen in the past few seasons. Every player we sign doesn’t have to be a “big name” player, look at what some of them have actually done for us after signing them. Boumsong, french international, Luque, Spanish international. Both gutless and incompetent the second they stepped out in black and white. I’d rather we signed players who want to prove themselves than those who think they’re owed something.

Comment #13This Turkish player seems like a good squad player who is left midfielder, can cover Duff and N’Zogbia. He is full international, but if he’s that good why only the price tag of £1m. Never heard of Jaures, but at £700k who cares he will be a back up player anyway. Cacapa looks good, he’s tall, strong and experienced just what we need, again a free transfer so who’s complaining. Our squad is extremely small at the moment, so all would be usefull additions to the squad. If we get these 3, plus Barton, Viduka, Boateng, Ben Haim and Baines, our squad would look strong in numbers again, with an out lay of just £13m less Parker £8.5, £4.5m leaving £40.5m to spend on some big names hopefully. There are also some other players that are available on free transfer that i think we should look at
Roberto Carlos
Michel Salgardo
Riquleme
Metzelder
Saviola
Yildiray Basturk
Mehdi Mahdavikia
Marko Babic
Aldo Duscher
Michael Lamey
Luis Figo

Comment #15i agree, look at the players Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool , Arsenal, Tottenham and even West Ham have got and are being linked to. Our current squad doesn’t compair to there’s in terms of depth. And Mike Ashley wants us to be challenging for the title within 3 years. There are so many players that would and could come to this club, it has the best fans in the world, a great and soon to be better stadium, soon to have vast amounts of money. Fair enough bringing in some squad players, but we sell Parker for £8.5m and replace him with £5.5m Barton, that is an lesser or equal replacement not a better one, should be going for full internationals than are capable of taking this club forward.
Man Utd have a great squad, plus have just signed Nani, Hargreaves and Anderson, and will probably get a world-class strikers too.
Chelsea every player is a quality full international and have just signed Pizarro, Sidwell and Alex, no doubt will buy others.
Boateng? Cacapa? Barton?Jaures?
Should Be
Van Der Vaart! Andrade! Makaelle! Sneidjer!
Fiorentina have just signed Vanden Borre, experanced 20 year old that would go straight into the 1st team, should be making moves for players like this.

Comment #16reggie, you said “if u want to see superstars go support united or Chelsea”, do you not want us to be competing against these clubs, challenging for the league and cups? Or would you rather sign mediocre players and struggle to qualify for Europe each year?
These sort of players are what teams like Portsmouth, Wigan or ‘Boro should be looking at, we should be looking to sign top quality proven players, scout them and make sure they are right for the club. That is if we are to challenge the top 2.
This is just my opinion, I want Newcastle to be a top team, hell i want us to be THE top team and if that ‘does your head in’ well tough shit!
You also said if I stood next to you on the terrace you ‘would give me a good whack’, you complete buffoon! Give me a whack for what? Voicing my opinion? Get off your high horse and act like an adult.
Oh and by the way if my lad came home with a B (which by the way would have absolutley nothing to do with you) course I would encourage him, how can you compare my lads exam grades with Newcastle United PLC?
And why is wanting the best for this fantastic club dragging it down?
Fair enough there are a few quality ‘freebies’ knocking about and should be kept in mind as squad players but I will say it again, if we really want to move this club forward we have to be more optimistic as regards the players we target and bring in.

Comment #20£1m for gokdeniz karadeniz is too funny. if newcastle wants to buy gokdeniz they must be ready to pay at least £5.5m . Someone says on his comment gokdeniz seems good player as his league is not good enough. Mateja keznan former Chelsea player is playing for fenarbahce at turkish league. He scored 9 goal as a forward player and Fenerbahçe finished league as champions. Gokdeniz played at same league for trabzonspor as middlefigher and scored 8 golas with 12 assists. And trabzonspor finished league 4th. i like premiership and Newcastle and i want to see gokdeniz playing at pemiership . But if our boss sells gokdeniz for £1m our supportes fires our stadium:)
