Newcastle hand Jose Enrique and Abdoulaye Faye their first Premier League starts and Claudio Cacapa returns to partner Faye at the center of the Newcastle defense. David Rozehnal is dropped to the bench with Steven Taylor.
Jose Enrique – Spanish Under 21 International makes first start for Newcastle
Mark Viduk is still not fit – and we did get some rumors of that yesterday so Alan Smith will play a striker role. Charles N’Zogbia moves into left midfield but surprisingly central midfield is still Germei and Butt, unchanged from last week. When Milner and N’Zogbia played the last 20 minutes against West Ham with Smith and Oba up front, they played extremely very well together.
Emre is on the bench as is Michael Owen. It will be interesting to see if Sam will bring Owen on at some point during the game.
We are hoping that Newcastle get off to a very fast start at the KO and try to blow Everton away early. That will certainly calm the nerves – at least of the Newcastle fans 😀
